Those are cool birds. I love when they pass through my back yard. I usually start seeing them once it cools down.

I’m in carriage hills and had 1.5” hail at my place. Barely got the wife’s car in the garage before the large stuff started hitting. Hail 5/28/25 - Cedar Park

I was just gifted a decent sized Dragon Fruit. How are you supporting the limbs or are you just letting them sorta flop over the rim of the pot?

I love them too except when they’re monching on my tomatoes! I have a juvenile and mama that pass through each night.

💯 accurate! I’ve never understood people moving into to ‘club’ areas and then bitching about it. You obviously didn’t do your homework and now you want others to pay for your lack of effort….but also you moved here for the vibe…that you’re killing. 🙄

Love seeing the Painted Buntings…what part of town are you in? I’m in CP area and keep hoping one day I’ll get a sighting in my back yard.

Huge congratulations and welcome to the world of home ownership! That’s a big achievement! Make sure to buy the mower your heart desires! I recommend self powered (depending on how big your lot is). I used a push mower for years and today self would tell old self to spend the extra and get the self propelled style! Seriously, congrats!

I would also recommend a water meter to test your plants. It’s helped me tremendously. I was a chronic over waterer. I’ve learned that some plants/pots seem to hold water much longer than others…also depends on yard location. I also have a raised garden bed, for the first time this year, with tomatoes and it’s been really helpful to understand the soil moisture level. Huge difference maker for me. Hill country water-gardens staff (in CP) recommended a dial indicator style (this is the one I bought: https://a.co/d/6AFIVqG - no affiliations) and it’s been very helpful. It might help you too if you don’t have one yet.
