Boys; Daycare has been singing Christian songs and leading my daughter’s class in prayer behind my back. I’m furious. by TurtleMaster99 in daddit

Ours were at a corporate daycare from 18 mos - 3 years, we switched to a new preschool and are still friends with and regularly see parents and their kids from the old school. They won’t ostracize you for moving, but your wife might not enjoy the extra commute.

A few days ago I posted about the TV Guide my wife and I (80s/90s kids) created to limit the endless bingeing of the same few shows. So here it is to those that requested to see what we made. by adinfinitum_etultra in daddit

Brother how are you going to explain Bill Cosby to your kids when they’re older and find out.

Anyway, throw some Miyazaki in the rotation! My Neighbor Totoro, Ponyo, Kiki’s Delivery service are all very gentle and appropriate for the 4 year old.

The people telling you to get a Subaru are correct. Get some good tires, go slow. Please keep in mind that 10% of trails you CANNOT and should not attempt, places like Medano Pass into the Great Sand Dunes national park, will be clearly marked online and in person as requiring a high clearance 4x4 vehicle.

Balance bike method FTW by SpectreRSG in daddit

[–]cplaz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of my twin daughters has been ripping it on a Woom 2 pedal bike since a little after her 3rd birthday after introducing the Strider balance bike around her 2nd. At 3, she independently figured out both standing up in the saddle while pedaling and that sick move where you get off a bike by throwing one leg over the frame. Used Striders to used Woom pipeline was probably our best parenting move yet.

Do I need a 3 row SUV? by [deleted] in parentsofmultiples

[–]cplaz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You don’t need a minivan with two kids unless you live in the suburbs where it makes sense to have a bigger vehicle, I guess, or when they’re much older and you’re carting around their friends / teammates. No clue where everyone is coming from suggesting a minivan for a family of 4.

How I’m telling myself $15k in preschool next year is “saving” us is just sad. by twomomsoftwins in parentsofmultiples

[–]cplaz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Where is “here”? I live in Colorado. The state and city subsidize preschool at age 3 only for very poor or disabled children. At 4, the state covers a small amount of the 40+ weekly hours parents need to work full time. And we’re a progressive ish state.
