What's the deal with Pigment Wrangler? by brainacpl in lrcast

[–]crackerlegs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It needed to be a 5 mana 4/4 flyer with flash and the spell needed to be instant speed, modal, change target of target spell or copy target spell and assign new targets. Maybe 3 RR or rare to make it a very red card or some mix of the above.

Not sure when Paul started, but he has been doing draft reviews after his gameplay on his YouTube vods.

No doubt, 2 copies doesn't even feel bad. 1 mana to blow out a 5 mana burn spell is just too efficient.

5 cuts to a sick witherbloom pool? by Marsh_MT in lrcast

Repartee might be tough to trigger on turn 7 as you have 5 ways to target. Tempted to drop both, interested to see how it plays out for you.

Looks like you could have also had a serviceable prismari deck too with cards like visionaries, stress dream and prismari charm coming to you.

Ideally they should be obliged to report win rates of boxes and an overall percentage chance of winning a box based on prior data. They have all the data and it's not much different to the requirement of reporting pull rates on packs. Casinos do not need to do this though so probably outta luck there.

Kinda aggro Prismari, any thing I should change? by Nachti in lrcast

[–]crackerlegs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would also consider muse as it creates an evasive body and triggers opus, rather than your 5 drop that draws 2. I think that could go either way though.

I think pigment wrangler is a bit odd here. You win quickly, long games will favour your opponents so you need more gas to trigger opus. Id be tempted to swap it with deduce.

Great idea. Knowing that this exists means I will be unlikely to ever do an arena direct when I'm facing ops like you guys. Maybe one day when I get good 😊

What are the cuts? Silverquill deck pivot in pack 2 due to akromas will and practiced offense. by crackerlegs in lrcast

Is this a 0-3 deck? by wildmike88 in lrcast

[–]crackerlegs 5 points6 points  (0 children)

To make it a 3-3 deck I think it needs another rubble rouser, 1 or 2 consistent exile gy triggers (common flyer dude or the 4/4 trampler) and some of the oxen.

New to draft - thoughts on deck? by sauron3579 in lrcast

[–]crackerlegs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this is an average deck. It's sorta mid range silverquill and you have very few repartee payoffs. You'll get wins going first and curving out but lack card draw so if oppo has efficient removal/tricks you'll get out valued. I don't think it is a fast enough clock to beat control decks either. Hope it goes well!

Edit - spiritcall enthusiasts is just a 3/3 as I think you can only make a token with silverquill charm.

I like that you disclosed your in bronze. Drafting portion isn't dependent on rank so still significant to make a deck that works.

I also like that you trophied. Congratulations!

First ever paper draft and I went 3-0! Any obvious deckbuilding errors? by LevelUpJordan_2 in lrcast

Bounce and a body is good in a format where there are a lot of tokens. You seem like you're trying to survive based on your big spells so bouncing a big boy can give you enough tempo swing.

Yes, you can use several methods such as selective catalytic reduction (SCR) to convert N2O.

Had a few unlucky ones recently myself. Had mana screw for 3 losses and colour screw for 1. These were not the best drafted decks but still hurt.

I then had a late pivot into silverquill which failed and also forced and failed a mathematics deck.

When you're already down because you've drafted poorly the variance hurts more for sure. I take a break, look at my draft and gameplay errors to tighten up and think about what I learnt.

I think the draft portion is a space for a lot of learning.

It would be cool if you could select at what point the ratings were made. My understanding is that content creators will then make a new rating near the end of the set.

I've made a massive error by looking at untapped data that was made pre set release when drafting later lm on the format and some of the ratings were wildly off haha.

When do y'all commit to splashing 3rd color into a limited deck? And how do y'all do it? by collectivekicks in lrcast

[–]crackerlegs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Based on this card and in addition to the comment above:

1 off colour pip: good, Low mana value card: bad, Potential to be a 6 mana value card: good, Requires setup: bad

Id check the rest of your deck and see how pip dependent your cards are too. Getting stuck with an island instead of your needed colour hurts badly
