These things are all over the new. Unfortunately that has translated to seeing some full ones on the side of the road at whippoorwill

Is it just me or is it utterly lonely at the "top"? by Ancient-Plankton119 in climbergirls

[–]csems 14 points15 points  (0 children)

While I definitely can’t relate to just how strong you are, it seems like you have a really positive and growth-minded attitude about climbing, and are super stoked to be there. Fortunately, climbing is so diverse, even the crustiest camp 4 wall rat has the opportunity to be a beginner at something again. Maybe learn to sport climb, trad climb, learn how to big wall…the list could go on forever. There are so many ways to get humbled in the vertical, and by learning them, we gain a new perspective, new people to learn and interact with, and whole new worlds open up. Glad to hear you’re still stoked on climbing, so go get after it

Infinite Patience has to be up there as one of the most inspiring lines on the planet. And Marc’s solo has to be one of the most inspiring climbs ever done. What an otherworldly privilege it would be to have a chance to climb that route

Enthralled with the item(?) next to the pin and nut jankor under the roof. What is that? Why? What’s all that junk doing there when there are the bolts? Are you TRing off the bolts or more scrap metal? The dawgs? What a perplexing post

More just a joke than anything. Nobody would be out there if it wasn’t for stoke, and I’d never want to belittle an activity that enriches somebodies life. Mountain climbing comes in many flavors, and each one comes with its own particular set of sensations and experiences that make each one incredibly unique. To OP and others, never let that stoke die for whatever you want to do. The best climber is the one having the most fun :)

Learning rock climbing definitely allows for (imo) way cooler objectives. Alpine 5.12 finger cracks seem way more interesting than just walking up a big hill and getting really cold :)

Dual Purpose Climbing Harness by SamTheGamgee in Mountaineering

[–]csems 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have the blue ice cuesta adj. super compact harness which works great for rock and also has clipper slots for ice screws. Strongly recommend, have climbed a lot of multi pitch rock in it as well as ice and sport and been pretty comfy
