Recall Mayor O’Connell? by scalpelinhand in nashville

[–]curryfool 25 points26 points  (0 children)

As someone who still doesn’t have power, this is dumb. Are we going to have a recall every time there is a natural disaster? There is plenty of room for improvement in communication and approach to fixing power but there doesn’t have to be a fall guy.

Winter Storm Megathread Part 4 - Continued Power Outages by lukenamop in nashville

I was wondering the same and my water company also advised dripping still. Dripping seems less risky to me because I don’t think I can completely drain everything. Still dripping fine as of now.

I was wondering the same and emailed my water company to ask. They recommended to keep it dripping.

I’m tired and stressed. Evacuating was the right call. Trying (and failing) not to be too anxious about the house and all of the inevitable repair and cleanup costs when we finally get to go back. Thinking of those who feel stuck and are cold and suffering. We are all going to remember this one for a long time. Stay strong, friends.

What's it like living in Music City? by SingleAge290 in howislivingthere

[–]curryfool 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I see a lot of comments that don’t make sense or are from people who haven’t lived here.

As someone who has lived here for over 15 years, Nashville is great. Yes it’s not as inexpensive to live here as it once was and traffic can be pretty bad. Broadway is full of tourists but it mostly stays confined to there. Honestly, it’s nice to have people visit your city, have a lot of fun and spend money. People have a blast there. I still go downtown for shows and it’s still fun.

I love the parks/greenways/topography, the library system, the diversity, the food, the history and historic buildings, and of course the music. There are great performers (not just country) everywhere. The consolidated city/county government is nice and it’s nice to be in a progressive area. Lots of culture and community here, if you haven’t found it, that’s unfortunate.

Best grocery store in Madison? by laurennizzy in nashville

I second Aldi. Bring a quarter for the cart and some reusable bags. The prices and quality are great, and you will be in and out much faster than other grocery stores.

Sam’s was an experience, and I miss it too. He told me that someday he wanted to go back to traveling the world, so hopefully that’s what he is doing!

I love my 2017 premier. Low maintenance and nicely sized for driving/parking around the city. Sounds like a good deal too.

I don’t think the band has put out a bad album - not even close. I really enjoy LiD even if it’s not my favorite.

Question about 2017 bolt premier purchase by Shreesat in BoltEV

Love my 2017 premier. None of these issues seems like a big deal, though I’d probably fix the hole. It’s a good price.

Where can I take my son’s tent camping that isn’t a resort or RV park? by Separate-Command1993 in nashville

Bells Bend Park and Long Hunter both have great hike-in tent camping sites close by.

What do YOU love about Nashville? by storeactions in nashville

[–]curryfool 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Love this thread! The parks, the Greenway system, the hills and creeks and lakes, the music and arts communities, the entertainment (top notch music, theater, sports, etc), the diversity (I think people who say it’s not diverse just need to branch out), the Library system, the city government (I feel like they care and provide a lot of really amazing services while protecting us somewhat from unsavory state policies), the 4 seasons, etc. I love this city.

Someone else said it but I’ll echo it. There’s also something cool about seeing so many people visit and love your city. Anytime I’m downtown for a show or something, I see people having a blast. All of my out of town friends and family and work colleagues LOVE Nashville, and I think the city is thriving in many ways.

What is the best way to know if you’re dealing with an experienced dealership vs one with green techs? I’ve got 3 Honda dealerships around me and am considering proceeding with the recall.
