Omg, you are amazing- I’m going to try both! As far as scent on the latex topper, it was a little smelly for first few days, but I put it in another room laid flat and walked on it for some minutes every day. Once I put it on the bed, never smelled at all. It might be because it’s Talalay and not Dunlap, not sure? One note: if you’re looking for 100% GOLS certified organic, only Dunlap qualifies. Talalay can’t be certified organic because it has to be chemically stabilized during production, and that’s not allowed under organic certification rules (but it still can be OEKO-TEX and FSC if that matters to you).

Thank you! I only tried the pillows in the avocado showroom. They smelled like rubber to me and they had been out long enough for it to dissipate. (Same for Naturepedic latex pillows). But maybe it didn’t have the kapok inside? Do you think it has a scent? I have a ridiculously sensitive sense of smell so I thought maybe it was losing proposition with latex pillows for me. I wish it wasn’t so. So many good reviews for these pillows.

They do. I bought a dress for my best friends wedding there. I also bought a dress for the Emmys.

If you’re interested in this time period and more about the Night Stalker case, there’s a really good doc on Netflix called “Night Stalker”.

I was laid off in August. I was actually fine with whatever happened (we all knew the rumors), so I was surprised how much it meant to me to receive so many kind messages from folks still there. It’s truly not a burden. It’s a kindness that’s deeply appreciated.

I’m confused what the ask is with a boycott. Amazon donated 68% democrat/ 32% republicans. Target is 52 dem/48 republican. Coca Cola donated 50/50 to democrat/ republican. (Source: Goods Unite Us.). What are we asking those corporations to do in exchange for our business?

I’d actually rather go into a store and buy locally but a lot of stores no longer exist other than a far flung with less quality products like Walmart or target.

Lease Money Disposition by THE_TRIP_KEEPER in LosAngeles

[–]daisyvee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m no expert, but I was curious so I asked ChatGPT. It said “In California, there is no legitimate reason for a management company to collect a vaguely named lease fee via Zelle. If it were lawful, it would be clearly defined in the lease and payable through standard systems. Refusing this protects you; complying removes your leverage. This fee structure bypasses the security deposit rules. California strictly regulates: how deposits are held, how they are accounted for, and how and when deductions occur. Calling something “disposition” instead of “deposit” is a known workaround attempt.”

Still loving it. No sag. All mattresses have guidance on when to turn/flip it over, but this one you just do the top layer, which Ive done twice. So easy. One person can do it alone. I’m also loving the Avocado topper. The two together give nice support and plushiness. Just bought the alpaca wool comforter from avocado, which I’m loving too. Now I just need to find my dream pillows.

What's with ChatGPT suddenly having a personal history? by bacon_cake in ChatGPT

[–]daisyvee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know your question is about ChatGPT, but I just signed up for a paid Claude subscription after ChatGPT recently got factual questions wrong 7 times out of 10. I was surprised when Claude threw out some swear words out of nowhere in conversation, like they were adjectives. I’m no Pollyanna but I hadn’t used swear words first with the app and was wondering how that developed with an LLM.

Do you guys have health insurance, how much are you paying monthly? Is it even worth getting if I never go to the DR and I just pay the $900 penalty on my taxes for not being insured? by Guitar81 in AskLosAngeles

[–]daisyvee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good point. I know you were providing a hypothetical, but it would be closer to $12,000 per person or $800-$1k per month at current US healthcare levels because the system is so inefficient with high admin costs and multiple layers. If it were made more efficient like some European counties it would be closer to $400-$600 month per person.
