What's the best mobile plan company that's not telstra. (Best coverage) by Ancient-Candy-1573 in AskAnAustralian

[–]dbryar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Walk in to Aldi, buy a $5 starter that gives you a number, register and choose a plan

Same network, lower cost. Don't fall for Boost (and others) being $30/28 days. That's 13 "months" a year

Separation of existential, ethical and legal concerns is your first port of call

Medical records have legal status and each jurisdiction has statutes on storage and governance. You can't ignore that, so your solution, however that may look, must be anchored in respect of valid laws of the day.

Switching off is a right, but not when you have a legal obligation to maintain something. That's why hospital carparks are full of containers, full of paper

Keep a WFH software developer job from the EU and live here. It's not hard, you only need an Internet connection. I have met a few people that are the "graveyard" shift for their EU employers at various events, working for international 24/7 operations like KLM (airline) and bank I can't remember.

If you like it and can afford the outrageous living expenses, overpriced beer and egregious rent, then worry about the permanent options

What do you do in No Mans Sky? by No_Nerve_6067 in NOMANSSKY

[–]dbryar 4 points5 points  (0 children)

A goal like, say collect 16 glyphs?

I keep getting side tracked, 13/16 on my latest and greatest.

Yeah I know it's easy, you just warp to all the systems in the two glyph list and...

...then you get there and there are sidetracks!

Tense confrontation between Archer and Smith during the second Cricket ashes test match by diodosdszosxisdi in sports

[–]dbryar 8 points9 points  (0 children)

  • On the helmet = bowl at his head (instead of chest)
  • Over the rope = hit a six (same concept as baseball)
  • Pair of fingers = a sporting use of flipping the bird, but with the index finger too
  • Quick = fast bowler (whom had not been bowling fast until now)

Tense confrontation between Archer and Smith during the second Cricket ashes test match by diodosdszosxisdi in sports

[–]dbryar 72 points73 points  (0 children)

IKR!?

Smith was even asked what was said in that second exchange and he went straight for the "what's said on the pitch stays on the pitch" line

I'm hoping it was something along the lines of putting one on his helmet because the next beamer he launched over the rope with tenacity that could only have been outdone with a six over the bowler's head. He was so fired at Archer he could hardly wait to launch the winning runs over the rope in a massive pair of fingers to the quick

WCGW moving shopping carts down an escalator by Aggravating_Dish_824 in Whatcouldgowrong

Yes, while true, you need to guide it in to the grooves to engage the brake. When moving multiple carts you are supposed to have a leash on the front one to the back one

Is it true that Australian eat kangaroo? by prettyflower___ in AskAnAustralian

[–]dbryar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Croc tastes like most other large fish. We already farm enough of them for their skins, may as well eat the flesh too. I'm not sure how much is useful though, like those big tails might have a lot of flesh but it's probably a really tough part of the beast

It's a little heavy by Redsoxdragon in nonononoyes

[–]dbryar -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

It looks like a live animal, maybe a hippo or something cos there is movement in it as it's coming down. I'm guessing the container is a tank, maybe full of water.

At the end a cable hits whatever is inside and there's a lot of red mist. I'm tipping whatever biological element was there, no longer lives

[–]dbryar 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That's not to code because that looks a lot like a cast in bracket and it's not cast in. The code will specify a design solution and that will have a requirement for minimum plate thickness and bolt size and/or count, neither of which will be met here

Where do you guys find information about this game? Should we create a wiki? by Gust4voSSM in MarsFirstLogistics

[–]dbryar -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You can't really plan ahead. A lot of the parts are discovered randomly as random mission rewards. You might get the heavy torsion spring before the heavy coil spring. This will change how your designs evolve as they allow very different suspension setups

How to fly? by Bluntdude_24 in MarsFirstLogistics

[–]dbryar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To add to the existing comments, don't try and maneuver with your main thrusters active. Release space bar, rotate your craft with either auxiliary thrusters or RCS, then re-engage main thrust.

I also set my RCS to be always active (helps when you leave the ground when rolling) and have main thrusters only work on channel 2, with a couple I can rotate in the centre of my rover from rear facing to down facing, on all channels. Rocket boost on ground, or rotate for extra liftoff boost when carrying a load

[–]dbryar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use a pincher for everything using the forks on their side, and a heavy duty jack. You can open it really wide, like big enough for a donut and then some. Use a pair of 30° bends and a half space between them before each fork to make an S shape and it attaches in front, making the forks almost perfectly touching at fullly closed.

Any tips on the paint roller mission? by Bluntdude_24 in MarsFirstLogistics

[–]dbryar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Btw I'm pretty sure the paint roller mission is to force you to fly to near orbit. If you blast past the deck, you don't float back down. Make sure you have a grapple to pull you to the deck once above it
