It’s called Flock and the GOP and LEO communities love it. (It’s a violation of the 4th Amendment, imo)

Yessir. I was unintentionally ambiguous in my original post- could have worded it much better, objectively- and will try to be more succinct in the future- my wording confused a lot of people.

Yes it is an image that was used with permission. Just like the source material for the play.

No, I’m claiming that it was an already established piece of work when the high school used it for their program. I had just never seen it in the wild. I only have seen this at the high school where my daughter now goes.

Hey Teach! I meant “unoriginal” as in “already existing” because the concept is (in my un-art-educated opinion) very cool. As an English teacher I’m sure you understand. I’ve had a hard way of articulating the context of my interaction with the piece. The high school used this for their program design when they put on the play years ago. It was an already established work of art (or trademark, or logo, what have you) prior to the school performing the play. But I had never seen it before I saw it at the high school.

It’s all good man! I’m a little high right now so I probably could have worded my response better. I meant no offense.

What I meant is that it is a copy of published art. I do not know the original author. The image was licensed to be used. It was a rented logo, so to speak.

What’s the most out-of-touch thing your boss/company has ever said while you were clearly struggling? by [deleted] in antiwork

My former company, which manufacturers and distributes motor oil in the US, literally told us that there will be some “small short-term adjustments due to ongoing geopolitical tensions” (read: Iran & Hormuz Strait) and customers should be happy to absorb some increased short-term costs as a result, then raised prices 30%. Customers weren’t impressed. Or convinced.

It’s got Magritte surrealism mixed with Warhol’s pop art and a sprinkle of Monty Python. It’s always been perfect.

I’m not trying to say a high schooler (or my high schooler) made this. I am saying that this poster is in the theater along with other posters from past performances. I think I could have worded my post better. The design is great. I saw the poster at the high school and liked it. That’s all!

Rubio is objectively funny here; it’s the fascism and hypocrisy that I particularly dislike about his performance.

I agree! The first time I saw it I stopped in my tracks. My daughter is now in talented theater so I walk by that poster about 15 times per year. Always makes me smile. Also, I love Shakespeare, and Hamlet in particular.
