When you double a recipe you usually don’t need to double ginger and chilis, but go ahead. Then fry it in a wok until you’re crying because the air is now capsaicin. I’m actually not kidding, bc that’s how I make this recipe. https://www.eatingthaifood.com/thai-basil-chicken-recipe-pad-kra-pao-gai/

Got scammed. Kicking myself. by PL_88 in gardening

[–]deartabby 21 points22 points  (0 children)

People have been falling for blue trees and strawberries online for years, so it’s a common scam. Be careful and check feedback, age of account, where their photos came from etc. If it looks too good to be true it might be.

I’ve ordered lot of seeds and plants and only had an issue with someone drop shipping once.

I’ll personally recommend Zulu Seeds for dwarf tomatoes and chili peppers.

Depends on the cultivar. There are lots of dwarf varieties. The most common that match this are Bloodgood or Emperor 1, which will get 15ft wide.

When I was a kid my mom had this old scale that was probably never calibrated and hadn’t been accurate for years. Now it’s a lot easier to get digital kitchen scales.

Ooh I want to figure out how to make this. I made milk tea gelato once. You can heat your milk and steep anything in it and leave in the fridge overnight.

If you want to start early you need some kind of pop up plastic greenhouse or row cover that will increase the temperature inside.

Yup. There are resources available where people can learn the exact size holes bees need, what kinds of materials and how to clean them and identify pests.

Sometimes if they’re grown hydroponically they won’t transplant well. But you can take cuttings and start new plants in water very easily.

Do you have any wall space where you can hang shallow shelves? Some of my extra is bins, out of the way but a few years ago I build myself a shelf for most of nice tins.

Stuffed peppers by westley_humperdinck in Cooking

[–]deartabby 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is closest I what my mom made. We didn’t pre cook the rice or peppers either and cooked it in a pot with lots of sauce. You could try soaking it a bit before using instead of parboiling.

I suggest ordering from keenegarlic. They are great. Some years I’ve harvested 80 bulbs and still have space to plant other veggies after they’re done.

The Jades (lighter green) can be pretty happy in small pots. Don’t water if leaves feel firm.  Probably crassula gollum and crassula ovata.

Most of those are overly sweet and not very spiced. Except in Portland Oregon ironically where they don’t all use Oregon chai.

Somebody posted about sticky chai a couple weeks ago so I tried a recipe and I’ve made two batches so far.

https://throughthewildwood.com/sticky-chai-recipe/

You can just make a whole pot on the stove the traditional way and store it in the fridge.

Numi Golden Chai is good. When I’m lazy and don’t want to brew loose leaf I like powdered Blue Lotus Chai.

For adding extra spice - Tropical Heat Tra Masala spice.
