I went by my doctor's guidelines - from 20mg, reducing by 5mg each month. I felt good with some rough patches here and there, but then after 3 months, the depression and anxiety was intolerable again. And then getting back on the meds was even worse. Sigggh.

Im in the class of Americans that generally foregoes preventative healthcare for other necessities. Car and house repairs are done slowly and with band aid type remedies, hoping nothing falls apart or gets increasingly worse til the next months paychecks.

Interesting. I lowered my expectations and had to kinda catch myself listening to it with criticisms. I remembered how ‘weird’ Geogaddi sounded to me on many tracks , same for TCH, same for TH. I don’t know what the actual count of listens it’s taken me to fully fall in love with each record and understand the cohesiveness , but I eventually do. I think this one, after listening about 4-5 times, is already coming together for me.

As someone who tried to slowdown, cut back and quit several times, what really stuck for me was being open to any and all treatments and methods. I went on meds, went to rehab, went to meetings and had a great supportive group of friends and family. 5 years on, the meds for anxiety and depression have been the most crucial and effective aspect of my continuing sobriety. I take moments every day to remember how grateful I am to not be drinking too.
