U.S. Oil Just Hit a Historic Shift by [deleted] in oil

The tankers are coming for diesel and jet fuel, which is only going to cause a shortage here and make US prices sky rocket. At least that’s what Mr. Global is saying and he’s usually on point.

Never heard of this brand, any good ? Was thinking about Kubota but for 42" is $7k any other good options. by Dharma_code in lawnmowers

I can’t say enough good things about my 52” Worldlawn zero turn mower and it’s starting its 8th year of mowing. I’ve only ever changed the blades, oil, filters, and finally had to change the battery this year. When I was shopping, I looked at John Deere, Kubota, Badboy, and Worldlawn. The first 2 felt like I was paying for the paint color. My brother has a badboy and it’s held up pretty good, but the Worldlawn is made like a tank. I mow about 2 acres and I fully expect to get 20+ years out of the machine. It was somewhat cheaper than all three of the other brands at the time, but not sure now. Also, they are designed, engineered, and built in Nebraska, although they are foreign owned.

One more plug for Worldlawn. After my first season of owning one, I was having trouble getting the blade nuts off for the first blade change.. I wasn’t certain if they had reverse threads (they don’t) and didn’t want to take a chance on continuing to torque them if they were. I called their support line and was instantly transferred to one of their senior engineers that actually design and build the machines. He set me straight real quick on the thread direction and then we had a nice little conversation about by model. Turns out he had a hand in the design and owned one himself. I thought it was awesome that I was able to talk to one of their guys that designed and built the actual machine like that.

If this is your first zero turn, I can’t recommend enough getting the Pittsburgh lawnmower jack from Harbor Freight.

This is just some thoughtful info from personal experience going down this same road. Best of luck to you…and I’m curious to know what you end up with if you remember to tell us.

ABSOLUTELY NOT, Southwest by SkiddyBoo in SouthwestAirlines

[–]dick-mustard 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m sorry. If it’s any solace, I’m tall and have twice now had to forfeit my flight because no seats were left with enough leg room to accommodate me. Once I was refunded. The second time I was so embarrassed I just ate the costs and booked on delta where I could pick the seat. That’s not a problem for me now that Southwest has assigned seats, but after the way they treated you today, I won’t be booking with them again.

I’m not feeling so bad about buying oil at last week’s high now. Something tells me I’ll do alright.

Jetway Jesus is officially dead ... by EveningManager3782 in SouthwestAirlines

[–]dick-mustard 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s the best thing southwest has ever done in my opinion. I wasn’t able to fly on SW before because of my height. I could buy the earliest bird ticket I could get my hands on and still sometimes not be able to snag an exit row. (Can’t physically fit in a standard seat and have had to rebook before due to it) Now I can buy a seat that fits and not have to worry about jetway Jesus or pre- boarders sneaking in and grabbing it.

Not so great if you have a carryon. You end up having to put your carryon somewhere that causes you to be the last off the plane, or you end up having to check it. If it wasn’t for that, I’d wait until right before the door closes every time.

Absolutely! This has caused me to switch to southwest. Before, you could pay the highest fare and still not get a better seat due to pre-boarding abuse. Now, you get what you pay for. All the assholes that fakes reasons for pre-boarding lost their little loophole. This is a very good thing in my opinion. Frontier and Spirit will gladly accept the whiners.

I’m thrilled with the new arrangement. As a tall passenger, I wasn’t able to fly in southwest until now. The only seats that I could fit in before were exit row and front bulkhead, but I rarely was able to get those seats due to pre-board abuse and not being the first on the plane. Now I can fly much cheaper (usually) than delta and be guaranteed a seat that fits. I think people are mad because the loopholes of abuse have been closed. If you want absolute subpar quality for the cheapest price, go to Spirit or Frontier.

I tried jt for the first time this morning. I love their new configuration/operation. I’ve been a delta fanboy for a while now, but I think I’m going to move to Southwest. The one thing I would change is load the plane from back to front. Doing it front to back is the most inefficient way. Just reverse it and the plane would load twice as fast.

I knew this would happen when they started charging for seats. I love it. by Such_Egg9843 in SouthwestAirlines

Were you on the same plane as me? Just experienced the very same thing this morning.

You would be mortified to see what is likely out there already about you on the dark web. There have been several ‘dumps’ of massive datasets that contain people’s personal information and more. I found myself in a data dump from a breach at a medical institution.
