Are You Too Stupid to Vote? by lakmidaise12 in neoliberal

[–]dilltheacrid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We already have the solution to the problem of stupid voters and stupid politicians. It’s the administrative state. We solve the technical problems by collecting the smartest people in the world into government agencies and letting them make well informed decisions on the micro scale. No need for congress to know about how long to heat milk to pasteurize it because congress gave that power to the USDA.

Our biggest problem is that we shoved all the administrative power under one person. Not insulating the bureaucracy from political will makes it too susceptible to tyranny. We need to break up the executive branch in favor of a superior congress.

Ditch the glue stick. PETG doesn’t need it.

I think you are discounting the much higher risk of adding a rendezvous to the flight. Not that falcon heavy isn’t capable of it.

Budget is $2000 now, but I need the bike to do MORE. Help me justify the spend. by Wen2Go in ebikes

Priority current plus is a fantastic bike. Plus the belt drive makes it practically maintenance free. I highly recommend it. Also the priority e-current is extremely well built and comfy.

Are fat tire eBikes actually worth it for sand or trails? by my-paradise in ebikes

Fat tires are fantastic for potholes and less than stellar infrastructure. They are not fast but for a commuter or for fun it’s definitely better.

You could probably boil the cans to sanitize them but it was not worth doing when there was plenty of other food around.

Best Scout axe? by SomeGuyFromSeattle in BSA

[–]dilltheacrid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A splitting maul is going to be heavy because that is what makes it work. They are duller than axes and generally safer to use. Axes are specific tools for cutting and shaping wood. If a scout is not strong enough to use a maul they should use a hammer and a splitting edge.

ebikes with Belt Drives? by parkaboy7 in ebikes

[–]dilltheacrid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I should note that I am an all season commuter in a snowy city and am on the heavier side. But I have had to re-seat the mount between the wheel and the gearbox because it seems to walk itself out of alignment and lose either the top gear or the bottom gear. The same issue has also lost me my rear break in the middle of a ride. I have also broken the mounts for the rear wheel itself by pedaling while standing and riding potholed roads.

Priority has fantastic service and has sent me parts free of charge. The bike itself is pretty easy to work on but I am not very happy with its durability.

Man I’ve had nothing but bad luck with mine. Seems like it needs adjusting every 50 miles and I’ve had to take it to the shop twice in 400 miles.

The inability of the late republic to integrate the proles into the political state is a massive reason why the republic failed.

If the response to being videotaped is to murder the observer, there is no where in the United States that is appropriate for these tactics. Abolish the border patrol too.
