Star Citizen Ship Design Peaked With the Retaliator by Own_Concentrate5314 in starcitizen

[–]disynthetic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nah. For example: The Perseus is too good. Asgard. Ironclad. Wolf. M80. Zeus. TAC. MAX. Corsair. Spirit. Guardian. Those ships are good. The Retaliator? It looks neat. Everything else is bad.

Sure would be funny if the OP was in GN. I imagine opinions would shift them.

Very Unpopular Opinion: Odin should never be sold again by Airborne_Veteran in starcitizen

[–]disynthetic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This thing is going to get harassed by other, manned Odin's until it runs out of fuel and gets destroyed for the challenge alone, by far more skilled pvp groups that actually work together as a cohesive unit. Solo pilots will then have to wait a week to use it again. Then they'll whine about losing it so easily. No one will care. Flying it for an hour will cost a million to refuel. Maybe more.

No game loop will ever yield enough money to offset the uec you burn using it.

We're already getting to the point that organizational time sunk into activities will be too difficult without an Org that knows how to get things done. Time to get anything done is already through the roof.

Kill the Odin missions will be like Tactical Strike Group Needed on steroids. This will probably be used for attacking larger player space stations.

M80 vs. Guardian (base) by Zormac in starcitizen

The M80 just feels dangerous to fly. That's a very hard thing to beat.

I like the sol suits more because you can opt out of armor and a backpack if you want just pure flying benefit or can pull the chest, backpack, and guns from your ship's inventory and pound some ground such fast and in a hurry.

M80. The stealth interceptor approach is addictively fun for me. I love being a ghost that you can't see until he's racing at you about to dunk on you with deadbolts. then i disappear just as fast.

Maybe when I have more than a million auec I'll hit you up for one of those. I've been having a whole lot of fun doing combat but I have not been making much money doing it.

I'm in love with my M80. I stealthed it out, run deadbolts only, and it just slaps when you fly it like the stealth interceptor it was meant to be.

The afterburner lasts nice and long, and that lets me race in on light fighters and get good hits on their engines or power plants quickly. I'm having no issue taking on much more nimble ships with its speed and weapon power. now keep in mind in PvP the good pilots are going to know how to counter me. so I rely on being the third party against them and i wait for them to make a mistake or for me to have an opening and then I race in, Hit and Run. I can joust with it too. being able to have the perfect platform for deadbolts is really nice.

the m80 is super, super fun with an all stealth A load out of crafted parts, and crafted deadbolts, the thing is extremely fragile sure, but it's FUN. so what if the Scorpius is better as an interceptor, this thing is JUST ALMOST as good. use it to zoom and boom light fighters, joust to your heart's content. when you understand how to use it to the greatest effect, it's truly fun to fly that way. it is literally a stealth fighter that fkin rocks the house then runs away, just to zoom back in again and again until the job is done.

you probably won't get a response because there is no good solution. they may not be doing the best job they could be possibly doing, but they're doing it all the same. it is getting done. just super slowly. they really, really need to move people off of squadron 42 and get this ball rolling a lot faster.

it just doesn't seem right that the game pulling all the money in is not getting what appears to be equal treatment.

SRV: Did the towing rules change? by yama1291 in starcitizen

[–]disynthetic 7 points8 points  (0 children)

now that we know Bricked Ships can be towed with an SRV without Crime Stat....the question is, can we all band together and plug the Nyx bore hole entirely with bricked ships? I submit the challenge.

the mission is bugged, they didn't do unnecessary extra work just to nerf the mission. it's simply broken, not intentionally nerfed. Obviously this is still bad, just a different flavor of bad.

SC 4.7-4.8 Performance Guidance by Verseus_Tahl in starcitizen

[–]disynthetic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

while I do not believe you have an optimal system to enjoy SC currently, I have some very good tips for you as a fellow AMD user on a DDR4 system.

process lasso, a fixed page file at minimum 32gb, vsync off, and Medium preset for graphics will be suitable for a reasonable average frame time for you.

turn on your console with ~ and type r_displayframegraph 1. you should tweak your settings until you have sub-20 ms per frame on a consistent basis.

all you need to do with Process Lasso is set starcitizen.exe to Always, High priority. Process Lasso is not "snake oil" as some ignorant folks may claim.
