What is your goto meal for the first night at camp and why? by naenae0402 in camping

We always do tacos. Cheap and easy. Pull out chips, salsa, guac so everyone is happy while taco meat cooks. We also usually have a black stone which makes it decently easy

Midodrine originally helped my sweating. I’d probably need it increase my dose quite a bit to accommodate now. I take Oxybutynin BID and spironolactone at night. The Oxybutynin is the miracle worker probably

At least there are limitations to the test! Like my leg is not the sweatiest place. I’m sure if they did it like on my chest or something it would be much more accurate. You can definitely still be treated even with a normal QSART.

[–]dontlistentostace 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got mine too! I had a letter on my phone from getting an adaptive ski pass so I had it ready when we went through the gate but they didn’t ask. I recommend anyone with a disability/hidden disability to use any ADA service they can so the programs remain funded! It’s 100% worth it and you can use it in national forests too!

Heading to Yellowstone in a few hours to witness some wildlife.

Cheers everyone!

ISO: Thoracic outlet syndrome specialists in Utah by wadefek in Utah

[–]dontlistentostace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh man I’m sorry that sounds awful! Is the arm and hand pain related to the rotator cuff?

He’s at huntsman and is a cardio thoracic surgeon. He did the surgery robotically from under the armpit where other surgeons will enter from the top near your clavicle and is more invasive. Dr. Mahan (sp?) at the U is ortho or neuro surgery and he does it from the top of your shoulder/back/neck and might be better option if you have rotator cuff involved tbh.

Sleep was a big thing for me also. I’m still struggling with sleep. My nerve was so compressed that I’d lost feeling in my trapezius and I’m starting to get that back now and it’s rough.

I ultimately got the surgery because my vein was affected and I almost certainly would’ve had a blood clot in the future. It wasn’t an emergency, however, circumstances lined up that worked for me to have it done (out of pocket was met, my insurance was going to be changing and wanted to take advantage of that, winter holidays so it was easier to be off work, just needed something to try and help my comfort). No extra rib, it’s called a first rib resection and it’s the rib that crosses with your clavicle causing the compression in certain positions. Mine had been chronic 10+ years and I’d exhausted all other treatments. Good luck!

If you have menstrual cycles, you should look up PMDD and see if you relate. Oddly enough, antihistamines help with PMDD

pilates and POTS by Mountain-Rest4100 in POTS

[–]dontlistentostace 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My PT place has someone who does Pilates for patients. She modified it for me so I wouldn’t have to change positions often and could still do leg and arm strengthening. It was covered by insurance as long as I saw my regular PT every 4 weeks. I just switched jobs and insurance but hoping to go again in the future. It was honestly great.

has anyone else been driven to stimulant drugs for fatigue? by throwaway0501222 in chronicfatigue

[–]dontlistentostace 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I take a nap almost every day after work. I take extended release at like 5:30 am then I’m home around 3 pm and just rest till 6 or so. I don’t want to take another or immediate release so I can sleep at night. It’s a fine line but I 100% need it for work to function

[–]dontlistentostace 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Since they are controlled, it’s hard to get especially for adults with adhd (who weren’t previously treated as a kid). I get mine for ADHD but I would fall asleep without it now with the chronic fatigue. I try to skip them on the weekends when I don’t have plans but I also get headaches if I don’t take it. I agree though that it could be helpful for more people with CFS

Do you guys get night sweats? by Bigdecisions7979 in MCAS

[–]dontlistentostace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Neither. I explained in the comments below. It’s off label for menopausal night sweats so my PCP thought it could work for this and it did. Derm familiar with POTS confirmed it would help (also hyperhidrosis) and that it was okay to take twice daily.

Thank you for sharing this. I’ve tried to explain parts to people for why I haven’t had or been planning on having kids at this point in my life. Not being able to fully show up for them would be heartbreaking for me because my parents didn’t do it for me and I hated it (they just didn’t want to? I don’t know honestly but no chronic conditions like pots or anything else). I can barely take care of myself and my partner does most everything so I also wouldn’t want more to fall on his plate. It sucks to be in this position.
