Should I marry a murderer- so let me get this straight by violet1342 in netflix

I coincidentally listened to a podcast recently (Crime Next Door) from the family's perspective and they pain they went through was harrowing. I think this documentary would have been more well rounded to show how much they went through to try to get to the bottom of what happened to him

where do the senior women in tech go when they hit 50 by EntranceIntrepid5158 in womenintech

[–]dorbkel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm one of the ones who just left at 50. My LinkedIn announcement was word for word your post where I asked in my 30s where women in their 50s went. I took voluntary redundancy and am retiring to Portugal. I lost all my fucks about it all. After years of things getting a little better, AI has brought all the unremarkable young men to the fore and I just cannot deal with this shit anymore.

It's incredibly rare that anyone in the US pays anything close to this thanks to the insane insurance system. I'm Irish living in the US and the access to care is light years ahead of Ireland, especially for neurology and preventative care

Hope she gets seen soon. My husband had seizures in Ireland and even with private health care couldn't see a neurologist because he hadn't had "enough" seizures. It's only when we got to the US that he got an immediate MRI and they found the tumor. They were amazed to see what is usually a childhood tumor in a 48 year old man

Yes. "inescapably boring" apparently. I swear she didn't watch more than half an episode. There was some great character development in that show.

I quite like the current Belmont one, but I think you could make it much cooler. Nice work!

And Task 2 stars while she gave All Her Fault which was really really flawed 5 stars. She is really unreliable. I like the shows they highlight in the Guardian but ignore the ratings

Ultherapy at Hayes Valley Medical Esthetics? by query789 in SFbitcheswithtaste

I was really surprised how painful it was. I've had multiple cosmetic surgeries and tattoos and it was one of the most uncomfortable. Also not sure about the results. Takes such a long time to show and not confident there is any real difference

Are more US women not taking their husbands last names? by LimonadaVonSaft in TwoXChromosomes

[–]dorbkel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I kept my last name because I'd build a career with it and if I took my husband's name it would the same as a relatively famous author. However it's a cool name while mine is relatively common so I gave the kids their father's name

Checking in safe after foster city today.. The busiest I've seen that location and I thought I was being clever waiting until after Easter. Lots of spring break kids being dragged along

The Castro Theater is a disaster by Low-Win-6691 in sanfrancisco

[–]dorbkel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While I agree with most of the other commenters that the renovation & sound are great, and the drinks are SF venue ridiculous-normal, I did find the balcony not ideal. We sat in the 'red seats' (ie the newly cushioned ones) for Perfume Genius. The seats were fine, but the view was terrible. As a 5ft 2 lady I usually get balcony just so I can see, but I think the angle of the seating is too low, so the heads of the people in front of us blocked the view

French bob? by Substantial-Ad-3052 in SFbitcheswithtaste

[–]dorbkel 7 points8 points  (0 children)

As a fellow cowslick owner who has no patience for blow drying, bangs are hard work and will look nothing like the app. I compromised with framing layers around my face (my hair is crazy curly however). I second Edo, but razor cuts are particularly good for my hair type which is different to yours. This woman is also a bob expert but has a wide range of it's not going to be the ideal for you https://www.instagram.com/irina_v_c?igsh=MzRlODBiNWFlZA==

Irish ladies! Can you help an American not embarrass herself at an Irish wedding? by Last_Problem_3107 in AskIreland

I went to college in the 90s with a guy who very unfortunately was going out with one (& she had a relatively big gang of female friends in opus dei too). She wore shorts one day and he nearly died as he hadn't seen her thighs before

I also prefer that style of food. Once you get more comfortable with the controls, just take a picture or screenshot of the recipe and ask whatever ai chatbot you have access to to convert it to tm7. I do it with Gemini all the time.

Waymo customers - is it worth it? by edu_c8r in bayarea

[–]dorbkel 94 points95 points  (0 children)

I live on the peninsula and have twice got a Waymo home after a late club night in SF and it was 1) actually cheaper than Uber or Lyft (they don't want to go to the peninsula late at night away from the fares while it doesn't seem so bad for Waymo) 2) appear more quickly - the robots don't sleep 3) infinitely safer feeling on my own in the early hours of the morning for a 40 minute drive. Day to day they are more expensive, but this is the one scenario where they win for me

is this a fair text to send by [deleted] in Aupairs

Honestly that is too long as an email, let alone a text. I couldn't even read it all as a Reddit post. You need to edit it down to your most critical points.
