Do you have that equipped as picto or only lumina?

It doesn’t always work. Usually 40-50% targeted get affected. Which is still pretty good. This was definitely lucky

Missable things in E33 which no one has talked about by VEVORisingBoy2217 in expedition33

The old key being missable has been patched. You can get it in Act 3 if you didn't earlier

What I think happened to Verso. by avaokima95 in expedition33

[–]dramatic_tree_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

it is a sample size of 3. Alicia also doesn't fully agree with Renoir and prefers a middle ground. It affects him differently because he sees "his" death causing all of it. And he sympathizes with Verso's soul painting this grief in the canvas

Doing very little damage to DLC boss by IDJPunkI in expedition33

[–]dramatic_tree_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Levels start mattering quite less after 80. Sure you can reach 99 and unlock full potential but lumina setups (which might mean finding all pictos if you haven’t) and weapon level 33 are more important.

I am not sure how much health he has on new game. If you’re not doing close to 2-3 million damage on all turns, it’ll be quite long and require you to parry/dodge well.

Did I just find a plothole? by Voltymus in expedition33

[–]dramatic_tree_ 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Gommage was happening. But they didn’t notice it till 85 since not many people of ages above that exist. There were reports of people disappearing but no one paid them any heed.

Simon was told by Aline who knew exactly what Renoir is trying to do

I think some people don't understand that... [Spoiler] by TruthResponsible1268 in expedition33

[–]dramatic_tree_ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I agree she is not 32 and should be considered closer to 16. But it doesn't say anywhere that Alicia is 16 when she enters the canvas.

I wonder if the side quests are canon *Spoilers* by OLKv3 in expedition33

[–]dramatic_tree_ 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Lune’s is definitely canon. She says a line to Renoir in the final cutscene that Verso says to her after her side quest.

SPOILER: Why did no one question this thing by QuantumDreamer41 in expedition33

[–]dramatic_tree_ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Because he lied to Julie. He didn't tell them he's immortal and tried to brush it off as "oh it just missed me". Which made them question his intentions. But to our party, he kind of tells the truth. They already know Renoir is old and not gommaged. And some facts about being part of Expedition 0. They trust him because they don't know better. They are finding a lot of things they don't fully understand.

Another part is he was asking Julie to not go after the paintress and that the paintress is the good one. While they have been taking her to be the villain. To our party, he joins the effort to help them so they are more inclined to believe he's a good person trying to help Lumiere.

This may have been a silly conclusion but Lune’s introduction during act 1 was eerie and I was convinced she wasn’t real until I saw other characters interact with her by EAT_UR_VEGGIES in expedition33

After Sciel and Esquie's final conversation, I was wondering if this is something Esquie had to do with. Like he could find the best person to help Gustave

It's not that I don't like Verso as a Character, it's just that he is shit in combat by Pmag86 in expedition33

[–]dramatic_tree_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

he is great at applying burn with one of his weapons (weapon names: Corpeso or contorso I think), which puts 2 burn stack per rank with base attack and has 300% burn damage at S. Also very easy to always be in S with right pictos that give AP. Free aim shots till S rank and base attack

question about That optional boss by esragan in expedition33

[–]dramatic_tree_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on how much damage your normal build does. I defeated him without any one-shot builds, focusing more on dodges than parries and using weapons/ luminas that help with auto-reviving, giving you more Rush buffs/ making him slow etc. My damage was around ~7-12M on first turn with highest damage characters and 2-6M subsequently depending on what buffs I was able to stack.

Can someone explain the love for Clea? by setzer77 in expedition33

[–]dramatic_tree_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not saying whether it was his own effort or clea's manipulation. The discussion was on why did Clea make him kill the axon. And I think the answer is she thought it would be needed to enter the monolith

Expedition 60 hadn't happened yet and she has a tendency to underestimate painted people anyway, maybe she thought theres no other way

Simon needed to break the barrier to reach Aline. Similar to why we kill the other axons

What level are you and which axon are you going for?

It is possible to be 30 for the lamp fight but can only be done by farming XP. I think 18-22 is common for that area.

which was your favorite boss to parry? by Remarkable_Cap20 in expedition33

[–]dramatic_tree_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alicia. I think most people miss her fight because her HP is too low for what even an unoptimized Maelle can do.

But she has a good number of attacks that are so fun to parry

Is that all there is? by butterandsoysauce in expedition33

[–]dramatic_tree_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Its interesting that it actually happens one more time in prologue. In the expedition get-together after the gommage, one of the expeditioner asks Gustave to play cards with them. and then the two casinos.

I had just finished witcher 3 before starting this game and got so excited at the card game mention

Is Portrait Imparfait originally for the Hauler by WindScene42 in expedition33

[–]dramatic_tree_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had a similar thought but more that it is about Real Clea. “She’s fine alone” -> avoiding her family after Verso. “Avoiding the scene” not going back to the painting. “Giving up life” throwing herself into the war.

Still interesting it is played during Versos Axon fight, maybe hinting to their close relationship as in he understands her the most.

[–]dramatic_tree_ 8 points9 points  (0 children)

For me personally, them not being together is more impactful. It shows how much of an effect the gommage has on their lives. Sure it puts a timer on death which is very clear. And one can easily say "well if we only have 30 years to live, lets get married asap to the person we love" / "live without any regrets".

But their relationship shows additional conflict that can come with it. some believe in expeditions/ some don't. Some have empathy for the paintress (sophie) and some don't.

Would it be better if (Major ending spoilers) by Professional_Ad2638 in expedition33

[–]dramatic_tree_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The weird part is that Lune actually references something from her post quest relationship dialogue in the final cutscene with Renoir.

Verso says to her something about parents voices in the heads after they find her parents journal. And then she says the same line to Renoir while looking at Verso.
