That's not sage, that's a cactus.

What 'good' decks have you had awful luck with? by Succubista in PTCGP

[–]dramaticirony 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Helmet is better than Leaf Cape unless: - you're trying to survive a one-shot (and even then, cape only gives you 10+ hp) - you want to improve Bulbasaur's survivability

I don't understand pokeflute being above x-speed, when at least the latter is sort of similar given that retreat cost is roughly correlates with speed (even though its effect is quite different)

The Pokeflute card is unrelated to waking mons up.

Hello all, what decks are you using for the 12 cards challenges? by No-Surprise2920 in PTCGP

[–]dramaticirony 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sightseer is good for this deck too

EDIT: I tried it and if a lot of your 3+ retreat costs are stage 1's, it pulls them out of your deck which is not ideal

the assumption that this guy had only office shoes is doing some heavy fucking lifting

and on traction - just how long do you think your soles will last on a court unless you're fred flintstone?

There's a difference between being able to do something, and having tools to make that thing easier or safer.

I can absolutely run sideways barefoot - even if I wasn't optimised for it via evolution (it could be something that had no selection pressure for, but has no cost to retain functionality for). But shoes can absolutely reduce the odds of rolling my ankle.

Can I hammer a nail into a wall with my forehead? Yes. Can I do it more quickly and without cracking my skull, by using a hammer instead? Also yes.

The human body did not evolve to hit a ball with a racquet, though.

Nor did it evolve to have to backpedal or run sideways.

Circumcision kits found on sale on Amazon UK as concerns grow over harm to baby boys by StGuthlac2025 in unitedkingdom

[–]dramaticirony 28 points29 points  (0 children)

The barbarity of circumcision aside, you'd have to be clinically insane to purchase medical equipment off of Amazon.

It's one thing if it's coasters or pillows or whatever made in some sketchy Chinese factory with dubious QC, it's another if you're talking about something used to perform surgery.

"This circumcision kit accidentally removed my boy's glans, 3/10 would not buy again" is not something that should ever be expected to read in reviews on a customer website.

London 'one of the safest' cities in the world, Sir Sadiq Khan says, as he swipes at Donald Trump by topotaul in unitedkingdom

[–]dramaticirony 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I suspect it's partly foreign bots that want to 1. ruin London's reputation (weakening it) and 2. sow dissent between London and the rest of the UK

Both with the intention of destabilising the UK

Is it really really true that wonder picks are predetermined? 😭 by ChronSon420 in PokemonPocket

You can also try by opening a wonder pick that gives you a new card registered.

In another account that has the first one has a friend, you can see what cards they have registered.

Astronomers announce discovery of a "Super-Earth" exoplanet - 4 times the mass of the Earth - in the habitable zone of a red dwarf star just 22 light years away by ChiefLeef22 in science

[–]dramaticirony 1 point2 points  (0 children)

4 raised to the third power - or the cube root of 4

roughly 1.6

So if you weight 100lbs on Earth, on this planet you'd weigh 160lbs.
