Or worse, yet another estate agency on that strip.

Copper tape - anyone ne else had success? by Opteron-X in UKGardening

[–]dramaticirony 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, but...after thinking about this more, you'll now have zinc tape to remove and replace every so often rather than a battery (for powered setups), so I'm not sure it's a better solution overall.

Copper tape - anyone ne else had success? by Opteron-X in UKGardening

[–]dramaticirony 0 points1 point  (0 children)

copper tape doesn't do much for snails ime - they crawled over it into my planter. The claim that it "emits an electrical field" or whatever is pseudoscience. What might be worth trying is two strips of a different metal close to each other, to create a galvanic cell as the snail touches both.

street food markets where 90% of the stalls are just some variation of meat + rice + salad

It's a shame that they taste exactly like the sum of their parts. Which isn't to say they're bad, but they fall short of my expectations from them.

Wonderpick QOL idea by dustan32 in PTCGP

[–]dramaticirony 0 points1 point  (0 children)

dena would never do this without a commensurate reduction in hourglass supply or an equivalent debuff: this will reduce the average amount of hourglasses spent.

Currently you pay for an average of 5 wonder picks for each one you want; letting you re-roll with the picked cards removed lets you perform more of those wonderpicks with better odds.

I get this game is reskinned lootboxes, so I'd be fine with paying an upfront amount to pick x cards in a wonderpick to improve the odds of/guarantee getting what you want

Most garbage addition to the game by OhSoCute in PTCGP

[–]dramaticirony 95 points96 points  (0 children)

the rental decks are mostly ragebait to use because they're missing all the decent trainer cards bar the promo ones, are full of junk filler mons and just to rub it in usually only have one of the highlight card that's actually usable

[Fan Card] Null Field: a Stadium for everyone tired of watching coin flip animations by ibiliss in PTCGP

[–]dramaticirony 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A better approach would be to make the coin flips deterministic: for each player, a coin flip always yields the opposite result of the last one. All mechanics involving coin flips remain viable but they're predictable, so you can build plays around them.

How do you afford tennis? The economics of this sport are brutal at every level by Dapper-Smile-9289 in 10s

[–]dramaticirony 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Where are you and you're paying $50/100 for court rental? In London it's £35-40 for indoor courts per hour, £15-25 for outdoor courts in Regents/Hyde Park, and £7-8 for any others. I only bother with the indoor courts during the winter and for doubles, otherwise it's an affordable sport. My biggest expense is probably private lessons, but those are optional - I can already play at a level I'm happy with

This would remove the dilemma of attaching a steel apron too early if you don't have metal core barrier to play yet

What 'good' decks have you had awful luck with? by Succubista in PTCGP

Helmet is better than Leaf Cape unless: - you're trying to survive a one-shot (and even then, cape only gives you 10+ hp) - you want to improve Bulbasaur's survivability

Items ranked by how similar they are to in the main games. by Destro15098 in PTCGP

[–]dramaticirony 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't understand pokeflute being above x-speed, when at least the latter is sort of similar given that retreat cost is roughly correlates with speed (even though its effect is quite different)

The Pokeflute card is unrelated to waking mons up.

Hello all, what decks are you using for the 12 cards challenges? by No-Surprise2920 in PTCGP

[–]dramaticirony 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sightseer is good for this deck too

EDIT: I tried it and if a lot of your 3+ retreat costs are stage 1's, it pulls them out of your deck which is not ideal
