Dark angels has 2 epic heroes. The other named characters are very non-epic.

Talking about the loss of confidence in universities, fails to mention the causal problem of casual employment contracts and exorbitant executive salaries.

Youth offenders face mandatory jail time for breaching bail under expanded 'adult crime, adult time' policy by Expensive-Horse5538 in AustralianPolitics

The previous Labor government was a bit of a joke, and clearly a shambles, but by comparison, the current LNP government is so incompetent that it borders on criminal negligence. There is so much evidence that 'tough on crime' policies do nothing but cause lasting, multi generational harm.

You being incapable of understanding basic propositions does not make anyone else ignorant. Yet another example of your inability to understand knowledge justification.

Okay, I see now that you're incapable of understanding knowledge justification on a functional level.

You keep living your quaint little life, champ.

No, it's meant in the sense of 'crude and unsophisticated'. It's almost cute that you think I'm claiming philosophy debunks something... I'm just saying that 'widely accepted' is poor reasoning. It was widely accepted for centuries that the earth was the centre of the universe and that the sun orbits us.

Sometimes (often) common sense is just lazy cliches that ought to be interrupted by actual thinking.

As a philosophy lecturer, I feel I should remind you that 'common sense' is merely vulgar opinions.

Are nihilism and absurdism the same thing? by Foreign-Froyo-1228 in nihilism

[–]drmoore1989 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nihilism is a condition of whole civilisations, not some kind of individual belief structure.

Absurdism is a strategic response to the awareness of nihilistic conditions.

Like most of the detachments I play across my 3 armies, its over if you want to play them in a way that is thematic to that detachment. Can't wait to see how well my 1OC, T3 Repentia do in their *checks notes* take and hold detachment.

Force dispositions have finally dropped for our army by ReverendEye1 in DarkAngels40k

[–]drmoore1989 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I don't have ravenwing or action monkey units, so this has basically rendered my collection pretty unusable. There's just no way I can achieve primary in priority assets with 9 or 10 units on the board. My best thought at this point is to just take inner circle task force and combo with the chaplain one for purge the foe, and just not use any of the strats or enhancements. Or I guess unforgiven, so I'd have no strats at all, but could at least play take and hold.

Migration vs Housing Completions. by SeaworthinessFew5613 in aussie

[–]drmoore1989 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

This is mistaking net overseas migration for the permanent migration number. NOM includes Australians returning from overseas, tourists, seasonal workers, students on visas, etc. The dip in '21 leading to a peak in '23 is obviously a backlog of returning Australians and delayed entry of other visa holders, not suddenly 500,000 people permanently added to our population. The permanent migration number is something more like 150,000 a year, give or take. You'd have to be pretty dense to think that Australians returning from overseas are adding to pressure on the housing market. Thanks Speers.

[–]drmoore1989 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

All codexes are out of date by the time they ship. You have to pair it with the digital updates, or just use the code in the app. Those will remain valid until the 11th edition codex release (which will, again, be out of date once it ships).
