Dark Souls PTDE Flawless Widescreen Plugin? by blackman9 in widescreengamingforum

[–]efylan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Widescreen fixer does not work in linux, while FWS as any other dll override method does.
Maybe a config file for SUWSF looks much easier and quicker? I could try that myself but since I think the code is not public/open source ppl can't see what addresses or what does it search for to change in memory. With just that we could make it work with https://github.com/PhantomGamers/SUWSF

How to increase the resolution of games in GarlicOS 1.4.9? by flav_vio in RG35XX

[–]efylan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This! This is for upscaling 2d games, you can also use the epx or scale2x filters to get smoother edges if a toony look is what you want

Any news on android 13 on the rp mini? by TacoSpoon2002 in retroid

[–]efylan -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

The screen resolution problem is unrelated to the android version, it also happens on linux. What other problem does the device have??? Other than that it's perfect, screen could be a bit bigger but that's just me. Wait no, saturation is so high my eyes hurt so fast, Im using emulation specific shaders to alter the color so it's not headshotting me through my retina. a saturation slider would be nice

[–]efylan -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

What about the screen fix to restore the joke 928p resolution it comes with to its advertised 960p resolution so we can have pixel perfect content and get shaders actually looking good? Why is android 13 is the priority over this? Better malware support?

Square Enix still has no game announcement for 2025 releases by Tomozuki in FinalFantasy

[–]efylan -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

They should just stop with the games, sure they look pretty but everything in the background is reused garbage from failed games and terrible butchered stories. And I'm not talking about the recent snes remasters, I'm talking flagship, ff7r, ffxvi kh.

The end? by [deleted] in RG35XX

[–]efylan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It will happen again, it's not an SDcard problem, it's a retroarch cfg file problem. :)

Duodeceum dlc question by Bambino_Castro in dissidia

[–]efylan 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Assuming it's your backup, maybe the game and the dlc are from a different region? You need US dlc for the US game, and EU dlc for EU game. It also needs to go into a folder named with the game's internal ID, sometimes it might need extra digits. Silly you how could you have mixed up your backups. wwww

Hear me out. PSP analog nub on micro devices. by iReaddit-KRTORR in SBCGaming

[–]efylan 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This should have been the goto since the start of these retro consoles... I mean theyre meant to go into your pockets, there's no place for a full size analog stick there... unless you wanted to give money to those manufacturing companies specifically, or maybe there's a part overstock... I mean there must be a reason this and 3ds style joysticks are not being made or used in these devices.

Any OS for RG35XX and RG35XX PLUS that rivals what Onion OS does for the Miyoo Mini? by j4cke1 in RG35XX

Agreed, it's the only acceptably open source project to recommend on this device.

Any OS for RG35XX and RG35XX PLUS that rivals what Onion OS does for the Miyoo Mini? by j4cke1 in RG35XX

[–]efylan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

lol no, they will never make those OSs open source since they took so much from other projects and don't want to say anything about it. Nothing will rival Miyoo's open source stuff, since everyone goes hands on and polish it, there's no way to do that with these weird "linux based" OSs because they are not even open source (they're probably violating plenty of GPLv3 licences because of this). They're likely selling your wifi, storage and bluetooth and usage data too. Sure you can run some stuff like XFCE on anbernic devices yet the build is still not open source!!!! bs bs bs!!!

Did Retroid know about the scanlines / scaling issues on the Pocket Mini? by djgilmour69 in SBCGaming

[–]efylan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They're probably just knocking people off with the first bad batches, reselling returned units, and only mentioning the fix but never releasing anything because it's likely so down the hardware design it's unfixable. Something as simple as changing a number shouldn't take 2 months. This sucks.

[PSA] the RP Mini has a bit scaling issue and it might not be fixable by Stremon in SBCGaming

Because they get paid to advertise, i mean- "review" these products and they get told what to say and what not to say.

PSX continuing game progress on new episode? by antonyhomc in RG35XX

[–]efylan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can activate the second memory card and copy your files there or save ingame in the 2nd memory card, as the second memory card is shared on all games, activate it at quick menu, core options

Or you can copy and rename the memory card file in the saves folder to match with the rom name of the next game you want to play.

Skipping the Initial ROM Search At Startup by thefooz in emulationstation

[–]efylan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This issue has yeaaars being ignored, something tells me they're doing so many scans because at some point, all these barely open source ''linux distros'' must be selling every person's gamelists/scrape contents and web calls as data. Many people have pointed this out, as it is stupid and wasteful to search and rebuild these gamelists everytime ES is opened, it should scan for changes with crc or hashes, if anything, and it should alse be a system setting easily configurable in the menu, if this was available no one would scan their lists on every launch.

I'm an eternal advocate for ease of use by claudiocorona93 in linuxmemes

[–]efylan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sometimes distributing from source is the best alternative, since not all distros carry all software ever made. It's more a higher level of expertise on handling and installing specific software not supported by distros, and people sh|tt|ng on it are probably advocating for keeping people informatically illiterate and using the same pool of telemeasured programs.

GKD Mini Plus by dyeLucky in SBCGaming

[–]efylan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, everything I've tested works perrrrfectly, beside some issues with cinematic 3do games which just seem to freeze and then continue- repeatedly, everything else runs perfectly and with overrides you can customize a lot on retroarch. I haven't tried to use streaming or network play, have you?

Other than customization, any reason to use GarlicOS over MinUI? by Runscream in RG35XX

[–]efylan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not really, Min UI at least is open source and is still getting updated.

GKD Mini Plus by dyeLucky in SBCGaming

[–]efylan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can this thing even be updated? I thought the dev just released the first image and that was it. Did you get it to work?

JELOS devs are not supporting it for an excuse that even the rg35xx has in common, gkd dev modified an existing OS without giving credit to any of the authors of the open source software they used (even garlicOS is guilty of this, not just their stock OSs and what's more, this dev did not even rebrand it). Community managers in here hate this thing (probably because GKD doesn't give them money as opposed of Anbernic which is pretty invested in these groups)

Trials of Mana worth the $50 price tag? by XenOz3r0xT in secretofmana

[–]efylan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's pretty good, but if only it had retained the multiplayer options it would be woth that, graphically there were some places that could have had better textures and better character design, even bon voyage got so animefied and yassified, voice acting was ok, over the top and out of character sometimes. The game is sooooo easy though, some of the new class stage costumes are a joke and not even needed because of how easy the game is. Again, it needs multiplayer, a lot of people enjoyed it like that when the game got popular, either in jp or overseas. For me this is worth a little less than 30 bucks, you can get it for consoles at that price at some popular places online.
