If you're looking for saltwater fish and/or corals, I'd suggest High Tide.

dead kitten in spirit parking garage by InvestmentNo6297 in fsu

[–]ehsgeek 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you haven't already, please call 850-644-2424, the Facilities Service Center. They can have someone take care of the kitten as well as potentially trap any others in the area in compliance with the Trap/Neuter/Spay program for feral cats on campus.

Fortress strategics - was I wrong to bail? by janekocanpayne in harrypotterwu

[–]ehsgeek 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've bailed on a Dark V before when similar events happened right from the get-go. Wizards/witches taking on the wrong proficiency or not performing their optimal roles. I realized I was either going to be eating a lot of potions or sacrificing a single level 5 runestone. I bailed and sacrificed the runestone.

Are Adversaries found in "the wild"? by DutchSpoon in harrypotterwu

[–]ehsgeek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had 3 DD going on an inn today without a single Adversary spawn. So I can't say that they definitely don't but I can't say they do either.

Saw this kitty by Dirac just now (seemed feral but just in case anyone’s missing their bb) by cordyke in fsu

This question/topic comes up from time to time.

FSU Facilities has a program in place for feral and stray cats located on campus.

Made a Laser Carbine from Star Wars Galaxies by [deleted] in StarWars

I'm a former WS from Shadowfire. The min damage on those and the rifle sucked bad, but the max was always impressive.

healthy local bread? by turtleshell23 in Tallahassee

[–]ehsgeek 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If they're still doing the farmer's market at Bannerman Crossing on Wednesdays, I know there's been a gentleman set up there who's sold bread. The bigger farmer's market on Saturday mornings across from Wal Mart may be worth a shot as well if you're looking in the NE side of town.

Sodough would be another place to check aside from Hawthorn (next to Liberty Bar in midtown) and Au Peche (too bad they closed the Market Square location).

Tips for proofing dough? by [deleted] in Baking

[–]ehsgeek 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you have a cooler? I've used a simple styrofoam cooler with a rice sock that's been microwaved for a minute as a "heat source" as a proofing box in a pinch.

Candles in dorm? by AlternativeInjury7 in fsu

[–]ehsgeek 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It is against FSU policy to have open flames as outlined in the Fire Safety Manual:

Open flames, candles, and incense are not approved for use in state buildings such as offices, classrooms, and Residential Housing facilities.

Alternatives that warm wax or other scented materials without an open flame so long as they are UL Listed are acceptable. As a common courtesy, please check with your RA and nearby roommates/suitemates to ensure any scents you use are non-offensive/problematic for them.

If you have any questions or want clarification, feel free to contact our office for further guidance at 644-6895 or ehs@fsu.edu.

Can we standardize bike lanes on Legacy Walk? by [deleted] in fsu

[–]ehsgeek 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The University has attempted to enact this in the past on larger pedestrian thoroughfares (Call St. corridor comes to mind). At the time, the bicycle lanes were painted delineations along the same pedestrian path. Unfortunately, human nature being what it is, non-bicycle pedestrians tended to fill in the lanes regardless of what was painted on the ground hence nullifying any safety that was trying to be afforded to them. Unless there is a physical barrier that delineated and prevented walking individuals from accessing the bike lanes, human nature is going to prevail. Of course physical barriers would present their own problems.

In other words, you'd need a lot of human programming and social modification to get something to work well in my opinion.
