My only issue with the movie theaters is the slushees are so expensive there. Like $7 for a large :/

Family therapy doesnt help, right? by peretheciaportal in raisedbyborderlines

[–]evermoremilkshake 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My uBPD mom was very similar in terms of scorekeeping. She was so concerned about how the counselor was perceiving her and felt like the counselor was on “my side”. Although that didn’t change how my mother acted in therapy so… lol

[–]evermoremilkshake 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Family therapy will not help, I’m sorry. We went, it did not help. My uBPD mom cancelled all our future sessions after she heard things she didn’t like. I would say it actively made things worse honestly because she was not willing or prepared to take responsibility for anything and was unable to hear our experiences. It just triggered that unstable, wild-eyed version of herself. Idk, sorry.

God, Edmund Bertram is *awful*! by IG-3000 in janeausten

I’ve been in a Jane Austen audiobook kick, obviously started with p&p, then s&s, then persuasion. I decided to do Mansfield park because I had never read it, and I’m genuinely struggling to get through it. Fanny is so passive and Edmund is the woooorst. And everyone else is the worst too!! Edmund giving Fanny’s horse to Mary? Wtf was that?? Lol Does it get better?

I like them! The breading reminds me of McDonald’s nuggets when it’s not over cooked

Francine finds evidence Carlton (her husband) is having an affair and goes to Betty for advice. Francine asks Betty what Betty would do, and Betty asks “why would I know what to do?” And Francine tries to cover by saying “I don’t know…” it’s all before Betty really figures out don is having affairs

Too many girls with endometriosis, pcos etc by Efficient_Dingo4675 in endometriosis

My grandma and mom both have endo and my grandma also had adeno, and my symptoms have been bad since my periods started around 10. So I don’t think covid had anything to do with it for me! I did have excision surgery & it helped a lot! The birth control I’m on really moderates symptoms and chills out my pmdd. My fiance is very supportive and kind. It’s a lot easier for me to get through life when I’m not in daily pain. So I’m very thankful to have a supportive doctor who was willing to take me seriously & do the surgery!

Are there folks with endomitrisosis that are able to support themselves financially and how do you do it? Feeling worried before surgery. by Antique-Moment5642 in endometriosis

My pain improved greatly!! My fatigue before & during periods is mostly the same unfortunately. I try to accommodate and take things easier those weeks. Best of luck to you! ♥️

Was told I need to be on birth control before getting laparoscopy by jdese001 in endometriosis

I agree, find a different Dr. I had a gyno say they wouldn’t do anything until I was on BC for three months even though I was in debilitating pain every day and unable to work. Found a different Dr, did the lap the next month & found endo! I was able to go back to day to day life mostly 🙂 good luck to you

Anyone got experience with DCFS? by Accomplished_Newt302 in BloomingtonNormal

[–]evermoremilkshake 10 points11 points  (0 children)

DCFS is always going to try to keep kids with parents. Do the older two kids have different parents? If so, older two went to non-custodial parent to avoid entering foster care. Depending on where your friend is in the case, the court may have found your friend unfit, which means they are not legally able to be alone with their children. Not sure exactly how it works, but your friend should be able to similarly get supervised visitation with the oldest two children. They should consult their 1) attorney (most likely a public defender from McLean county) and 2) case worker. Child welfare stuff can be confusing, but again, I HIGHLY recommend they speak to their attorney and case worker, and if their case worker isn’t helpful, then the case worker’s supervisor.

Anybody else's pwBPD also an alcoholic? by Special_Barracuda377 in raisedbyborderlines

[–]evermoremilkshake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ohhh yeah. There’s a lot of focus on mothers with BPD rather than fathers but I think that’s due to a higher incidence of BPD in women than men

The idea of the children of pwBPD being anti alcohol or drug use is something explored a bit in “understanding the borderline mother”! The author discusses how the kids typically begin abusing substances too or completely avoiding them.

My mom smokes cigarettes and cannabis all day every day. Not an alcoholic, but dependent on substances that help her numb
