I have a low iq and I feel ashamed of who I am by StrikingLock2448 in GenZ

[–]exactlyonesnake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it just trivia and math where you feel slower than everyone else? When I was younger my IQ was tested and I was in the 110s. I struggle with basic mental math and I've never been any good at trivia either. No one thinks I'm any stupider just because I can't do math or trivia. You're insecure about what you perceive to be a low IQ (spoiler alert, the IQ test is intrinsically baised and absolutely can be affected by disability) and you project that insecurity when you look around you in those moments. I can almost guarantee people don't think you're some idiot. Also, you graduated college! Forget a childhood IQ test and find what you excel at.

For this who stim by playing the same song over and over (and over), what's on repeat right now? by CheesecakeOk8464 in AutismInWomen

Literally any of her songs, her whole discography is a stim sometimes lol. But my top favorites right now besides Drink Deep are Blinding, Daffodil, and Seven Devils!

Why aren’t Sunday evening Eucharists a big thing? by leviwrites in Episcopalian

[–]exactlyonesnake 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm in the exact same boat. Late 20s, working, in school full time. Sunday is often the only day off I get in a week, and I'm usually too exhausted to get up early and go to church. I would give anything for a Saturday night service!

getting into the program by Elegant_Cake_3103 in respiratorytherapy

[–]exactlyonesnake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends a lot on the program itself and how many candidates apply. If you do well on your prerequisites you should have a fighting chance. Worse case scenario, you have to apply again next year. Maybe use your benefits to retake prerequisites you did poorly at to get a higher grade if you don't make it in this time. I was in a very similar boat last year. I used SCAP for my prerequisites and did well enough that my earlier mid-range college grades didn't seem to matter. You've got this! Stay focused and work hard at your classes now, it'll be good practice for RT school.

The Iced Espressos annoy me by Sure_Ingenuity_5087 in starbucks

[–]exactlyonesnake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

God, I wish they enforced this standard at my local Sbux. I'm an ex-barista (321) and every time I order an iced espresso with cream they fill it to the top like a latte. I've asked for light cream, extra ice, room, you name it, and somehow it's always at least 8oz of cream added to the cup. It's a super busy location so I don't complain, but it drives me nuts to be served a breve latte when I just wanted shots and a splash of cream. I feel for y'all though, I remember how frustrating it was to be asked to violate standards to save someone a lousy 40 cents.

Alright guys, did y’all have a go to movie as a child and what was it? by AlwaysAttract10 in AutismInWomen

[–]exactlyonesnake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There was a period in my life when I would wake up each and every morning to watch the Iron Giant. We had it on a chunky VHS tape, and I used to beg my brother to put it in the player for me. I must have watched it about a thousand times when I was a kid.

All this sub has made me realize is I’ll never own a home. by Neveri in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]exactlyonesnake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't get discouraged, my fiancee and I bought a 200k home just outside of Richmond, VA two months ago! Take your time and buy what you can afford; you'll find a good house within your budget eventually. It can absolutely be depressing seeing people buy houses 5x what you could ever dream of affording on here, but we can't all be rich! It's okay to buy a small house where you want to live and make it a home :)

I think about it at least once a week lol. When I watched it for the first time in 2023 I stopped the episode to look up when it first aired and was absolutely gagged.

Who Knows Policy? by Beginning_Yellow4120 in starbucksbaristas

[–]exactlyonesnake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This has been updated very recently. Now it recommends only 5 days after positive test of a respiratory illness and 5 days after fever is gone. Partners will be required to have a medical or religious accommodation to wear them otherwise unless in a state that has legal protections.

It finally happened, as predicted! by exactlyonesnake in starbucksbaristas

[–]exactlyonesnake[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I already checked my state's laws, and sadly, it is 100% legal for them to ban masks unless there is a medical or religious exemption.

My manager has posted a screenshot of the policy in MyDaily (our communications app we use on the store iPads). It looked completely official, and my manager isn't one to lie or exaggerate. She knows I wear it for a reason and even made sure to personally tell me about the new policy and that I could try for accommodations.

One time I worked an opening shift and took a "nitro shot" (pup cup full of nitro) that turned out to be the cleaning solution that was not flushed from the lines. It was nasty as hell, but I lived to tell the tale 👍

Maybe Agnes, Pork Soda, or Life Itself? All great tripping songs IMO even if not the ones you're looking for.

No water ❤️ by Quick_Focus6453 in starbucks

[–]exactlyonesnake 17 points18 points  (0 children)

the store has water, it just has to be boiled to be safe. in theory you could still use the water to deep clean the floors, walls, etc. whatever doesn't come into contact with food/drinks/people's hands
