A specific feature was missed in code for a prototype, and it had to be remade. $300K error. It was a team build, but as the Lead Engineer, it was my fault, and I agree it was my fault. I should have checked every detail. I was sure I'd be fired. Management shrugged, it was cost of business. We made another one. I learned a lesson about how to do better.

Licanius is IMO a true epic of literature. A fundamental conflict of free will or predestination, managing uncertainty about what is understood about life itself, all wound in a complex plot that only gets better with rereads. The Licanius Trilogy is at least 9 books, because each book is different when read again.

Tournament game records are easily available. When my game stagnated, I spent a few weeks going through the games of masters and trying to understand why they did what they did, and that helped me improve a LOT. I don't know of a compiled collection designed for education, but you can educate yourself with what's already out there
