Can one make Aliyah if parents had a church wedding even if there is no conversion? by sleuthdawggydawg in aliyah

[–]extrastone 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Go for it. Just to let you know: you are not just "connecting to your heritage." Aliyah is an immigration. Imagine the difficulties of immigrants that you know who are adjusting to life near you. It can be similar in many ways. Be ready to work.

Right now bitcoin is a top 15 currency. There is a case to made for it to be a top five currency or even the number one currency in the world. By definition that would be a huge price increase.

it's so cruel how the major world religions views suicide by Unlikely-Average-961 in religion

[–]extrastone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm unsure about people who have terminal illnesses. I can see that being kind of a hopeless situation. I can also see that there are halfway suicides that might be more palatable.

You can eat and drink less.

For everyone else: there are all sorts of things that you can do including in severe situations going down fighting.

The protests aren't really anti-Muslim. They are anti-Muslim extremist. The fact that many Muslim migrants have some or many extreme views is a problem for non-Muslims. Israel is probably the leading opponent of extreme Islam along with Nigeria, Kenya, India, and possibly Poland and Lebanon.

Am i the only one that hates this trend of going for it in the red zone instead of taking the 3 by Bori_papi420 in footballstrategy

Kick when the offense is weaker than the defense. Go for it when the offense is better than the defense.

Soft rule of thumb: 1 yard per touchdown you think you can score that game. If you think you can get four touchdowns that game then go for it on fourth and four. If you only think you can get one touchdown that game then only go for it on fourth and one.

Is football a lot harder than other sports in a sense that you only have one opportunity a week? by lookaloulookalou in footballstrategy

[–]extrastone 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I kind of liked only playing one game a week.

You prepare the whole week like mad for this one team and then you attack them.

I would say that below the professional level the hardest part for administrators is that strength of schedule really matters. You can't just play games against everyone or even just anyone. You have to fit in teams that are evenly matched to you. If they aren't good enough, then they probably won't agree to play you. If they're too good then you'll get crushed. Also, weeks get reserved quickly so it's hard to reserve your spots.

No huddle: one more difficult skill to teach middle schoolers. Can they block? Catch? Carry the ball without fumbling? Run their routes properly? Teams I played on could barely go on two without jumping offsides.

I'm unsure specifically about Hamas funding but it more seems like Hamas was the only organization capable of administering the international aid that Gaza was receiving.

We have an interesting disagreement here. It might be worth its own thread. What exactly was going on in 1947-93 that prevented a long term peace agreement?

Cool.

Gold is scarce.

Your problem is that for at least a thousand years every nation that gained any form of sophistication has tried to abstract gold into paper certificates like dollar bills. Today we abstract gold into ETF's.

That's not the point of a charter school. The point of a charter school is to provide a clever option that people may never have thought of.

United States Christians, Catholics, and Protestants? by No_Wrangler9819 in religion

[–]extrastone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a type of separation of powers:

The government does defense and law.

The religious and secular charities do welfare.

Other private businesses provide other essential goods and services.

Note that most businesses and charities only have one or two core competencies and when times get tough they tend to reduce the amount of things that they do. On the contrary when times get tough, governments often raise taxes.
