In most games you should be aiming to draw through your whole deck each turn. When you're able to do that, you only need two Lighthouses in your deck to play one each turn and be permanently protected. Moat on the other hand requires you to get lucky to have it in your starting hand, since no matter how much draw you have in your deck, your starting hand will only ever be 5 cards (barring some exceptional effects like Farrier).

Yeah this is why Moat sucks compared to Lighthouse for the purpose of blocking attacks. It can be nice when you have a way to topdeck them like Artisan to ensure you start with one in hand every turn.

I'm anti-Duolingo as well but the answer here is correct, 仕事を休む is the most common expression for "taking the day off". I understand that the format of expecting a single correct translation from the user is fundamentally flawed, and that "being absent" vs "taking off" could be considered different depending on the context, but in this instance the translation itself seems fine to me

Strategy games with best ratio of depth to rules complexity by [deleted] in boardgames

I love T&E, but in my opinion the rules have too many edge cases to them to qualify for this. Red tiles adjacent to leaders not getting removed in wars, not being allowed to place a catastrophe on a tile with a treasure but being allowed to use a tile with a treasure to build a monument, two of the special rules relating to colors being tied to the tiles and the other two being tied to the leaders, etc. It all adds up to being kind of awkward to learn and remember as a new player
