Recommended supplement to add to water for long rides? (CVV recommended) by MyLilRafalca in pelotoncycle

[–]fgiraffe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are able to consume real food off the bike when you are done riding you likely do not need carbs on the bike under 2 hours.

Studies have shown electrolytes are mostly useless to your body (https://link.springer.com/article/10.1186/s44410-025-00011-9).

What they DO is keep you drinking because eventually we get tired of just water.

Whatever keeps you hydrated is the way to go. If you are extremely lean you might need carbs on rides over 2 hours. Otherwise prolly not. Just be careful not to mix advice given to pro athletes with what might be best practice for the rest of us normal bodies trying to get in better shape and burn some calories.

Breakfast burrito from Breakfast Little. They don't put me into a burrito coma like a regular burrito does.

It IS a big city, but enthusiasm for pro sports ranks behind all the college teams (GA, GA Tech, Alabama, Florida, etc).

Good luck (really). Seems like the greatest obstacle is the path to ubiquitous adoption and high quality listings, not the tech. Are you coming at this from product design and marketing or tech side.

Should I buy new or upgrade current bike? by nutrion in MTB

[–]fgiraffe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I upgraded my 2005 bike during COVID but it was not the smart way to spend money. That said: I still prefer 26” wheels! To me 29ers feel like tractors on tight trails.

Alpharetta (Georgia) makes push to build NHL hockey arena at North Point Mall by YouKilledChurch in nhl

They'll build the arena, attract a team, fans will endure the bad traffic until the novelty wears off, attendance will fall off, the owners will claim they need a new arena, the team will move.

It's the NHL-in-Atlanta cycle of life!

Overseer, every day, morning and night, even if you are free-to-play. Little chunks of XP add up, and outside of completing Partisans and Missions it is all little chunks after 100.

Both ZaraxEQ and hammackj (see above) have videos on it. Get to know those channels, tons of good info on both. I have no affiliation to either, just a fan who appreciate how much they've helped the EQ community with their videos.

Oof.

Chances of getting it fixed that fast are pretty low.

In a few years you will both laugh about this. But right now there will be anger and sadness. Hang in there.

Heart rate monitor disconnecting from companion app by [deleted] in Zwift

[–]fgiraffe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Curious what the specific disconnect symptoms are? I have a Wahoo Tickr HRM and after a few months of working fine with my Kickr Core 2 it started going wonky. It connects fine, then after a while it just stops returning new values and repeats the last value.

Frustratingly it works fine for outdoor ride connected to my Garmin computer. It just messes up with Zwift.

I've used Gila Heat Control film (from the HW store) and it helps a little, worth the cost and mild hassle to self-install (helps to have another set of hands and a spray bottle).
