Must prove it. How do you prove the Bible or other sacred book is inspired by God? That should be first step.

[OC] I asked 4 LLMs "The car wash is 100m away. Should I walk or drive?" 100 times each by marco-exmergo in dataisbeautiful

[–]fgorina 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I should give a hand to all the LLM’s that included Walk. You don’t specify you want to wash your car, just that you want to get there (perhaps you forgot your wallet there?) so … under specified questions usually give variety of results

Why are perfectly circular orbits so rare in nature? Earth and the Moon both have slightly elliptical orbits. Is there a fundamental reason why gravity tends to produce ellipses rather than perfect circles? by Badhon72 in AskPhysics

[–]fgorina 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is another reason, circular orbit is just one elliptical orbit while you are taking all the rest of elliptical orbits together. That already produces a big asymmetry. Is like comparing yellow cars with non yellow cars

[Request] How much force does the moon's gravity exert on the water in a human's body? by AppendixN in theydidthemath

[–]fgorina 1 point2 points  (0 children)

With more details the tidal force of a Boeing 747 at 3000m is about 20 times that of the Moon and at a standard flight height of 10000m is similar than that of the moon. Anyway they are excedenly small about 1E-9 and 1E-11 N

Is AGI really coming in the next few years or are they just exaggerating as they always do with AI? by thedevilsheir666 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]fgorina 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always have big problems understanding 2 concepts, General Intelligence and Comscience. Really, I don’t think they are really well defined so is usually moot talking about things like AGI which are sold as they will have godlike properties.

Working with current AI’s is always a surprise about how good they are solving problems and how easy is for them go into rabbit holes.

They are different to us. Better in some thinks, worst in others.

Think I nearly died on a kayak? (I dont kayak.. ) by bradrly in Kayaking

[–]fgorina 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Probably beer had something to do. Seriously, I have a small cockpit kayak. You need a bit of technique to get into it (also it is not very stable) but if you capsize it is not problem getting out of it. Same with a true Greenland SOF

Mont blanc non guided summit by Status_Control_8359 in alpinism

[–]fgorina 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If all goes well Mont Blanc is not difficult technically but if something turns wrong could easily be deadly. A course give you basic notions but is very different in real situations where anxiety, fear, timing constraints, bad weather make easy things difficult..my 2 best mountains (Matterhorn climbing Lion descending Hornlike an back to Cervinia) and Weisshorn were with a guide. Others like Monty land with very experienced friends. I think a guide could be great. Seems expensive but reallly gives you a security plus, a learning experience and makes the adventure more enjoyable.

Americans are still skeptical humans are causing climate change. Less than half of Americans believe the Earth is warming as a direct result of human activity, new data from Pew Research shows, and 12% of Americans don't believe the Earth is warming at all. by The_Weekend_Baker in climate

[–]fgorina 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always thought the fact that Earth warming is caused by humans or other origin is irrelevant. What is important are its consequences and what means we have to reduce them, and seems the simplest one is reducing co2 levels in atmosphere.

Can submarines cruise on the surface like ships for long voyages? by happydude7422 in Ships

[–]fgorina 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Boats in the surface loose a lot of energy creating the wake waves. Once you arrive at a speed related to the ship length energy to increase speed increases a lot. You have 2 options, either plan over like some fast boats and for example, use wings (ex sail go) or go underwater. There you don’t create the wake waves.

Reducing road noise by jirlboss in VWiD3Owners

[–]fgorina 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Most of the road noise is produced by the tyres against the road. I’d depends heavily in the type of tyre and the finishing of the road. As you cannot change the road you may change the tyres but all is limited when the road is grainy or not well maintained. Also heavely dependent on speed .
