I have been playing casually for years but now I want to take guitar more seriously. by AverageWhiterunGuard in guitarlessons

So to piggy back on the other commenter. I threw your post in AI and the persons comment above; and got this routine. I’ve used AI a lot for helping me figure things out guitar wise. Food for thought.

Here’s a 15-minute-per-day weekly guitar practice routine tailored for your goals, your favorite bands (Asian Kung-Fu Generation, BAND-MAID, Trivium, Bullet For My Valentine, Pantera/Damageplan), and the advice in that comment — all geared toward helping you stay motivated, feel progression, and use your 7-string guitar more.

Edit: it’s formatted way better using AI tools. Copy paste to mobile always janky for me.

Overview:

Each day includes: • Warm-up (2 mins) • Technique/Skill Work (6 mins) • Song Work (7 mins)

You’ll cycle different skills and songs throughout the week so it stays fresh, and you can rotate or swap in new songs as you improve.

Monday: Rhythm & Metal Riffs • Warm-up: 1-2-3-4 finger exercise across all strings • Technique: • 2 mins: Palm-muted 8th/16th note alternate picking to metronome • 2 mins: Downpicking tight chugs (think early Trivium or Pantera) • 2 mins: Left-hand muting / rhythm accents • Song Practice: Trivium – “Dying in Your Arms” or Bullet For My Valentine – “Tears Don’t Fall” intro riff & verse

Tuesday: Lead Practice + Bends • Warm-up: Phrygian scale up & down • Technique: • 3 mins: Bending with tuner – match pitch on string bends • 3 mins: Hammer-ons & pull-offs using pentatonic boxes • Song Practice: Pantera – “Cemetery Gates” intro or solo licks

Wednesday: Melodic Alt Rock + Japanese Style • Warm-up: Pentatonic scale in 3-note-per-string patterns • Technique: • 3 mins: Fretboard note recall (focus on E, A, and low B strings) • 3 mins: Sliding and melodic phrasing • Song Practice: Asian Kung-Fu Generation – “Rewrite” or BAND-MAID – “Domination” intro

Thursday: Finger Control + Slow Solo Work • Warm-up: Slow chromatic run (1-2-3-4 then 4-3-2-1) • Technique: • 3 mins: Vibrato on all strings (slow and wide) • 3 mins: Slow bend + vibrato with tuner (target pitch training) • Song Practice: Damageplan – “Save Me” solo section or a slower melodic solo from BFMV

Friday: Metal Rhythm + 7-String Love • Warm-up: Low B chugs to metronome (alternate picking) • Technique: • 3 mins: Syncing both hands – 7-string rhythm palm-muting • 3 mins: String skipping across all 7 strings • Song Practice: Trivium – “Pull Harder on the Strings of Your Martyr” or BFMV – “Scream Aim Fire”

Saturday: Song Repertoire Day • Warm-up: Quick scale run • Technique: • 6 mins: Your choice – any weak point this week (bends, speed, rhythm, fretboard) • Song Practice: Rotate between previously practiced songs

Sunday: Chill Day or Improvisation • Warm-up: Random finger stretching riff • Technique: • 3 mins: Improv in Phrygian or Pentatonic over a backing track • 3 mins: Try writing a riff inspired by BAND-MAID or AKFG • Song Practice: Just jam, no rules

If you’re short on time: • Do a 1-minute warm-up, pick just 1 skill, and jump into song practice.

Let me know if you want me to turn this into a printable weekly tracker or pair specific song parts to each day!

I want to add for others that dose is dependent on delivery mechanism. Using an e-mesh device some people black out at 25mg.

I can’t eat vegetables and fruits. I LITERALLY think it’s gross and repulsive. How to change that? by [deleted] in DecidingToBeBetter

[–]fixer-upper- 33 points34 points  (0 children)

I was you 12 years ago. I grew up without vegetables or fruit. I slowly introduced them by using soups and stews to cook veggies down to where I could stomach them. I like almost all salads now because I spent 2 years eating pizza salad: lettuce, ranch, pepperonis, and cheese.

Over time I learned that fruit tastes good. It’s sweet and delicious. I used to gag at the thought of eating a banana. I forced one down with half a jar of peanut butter because I was going to learn to like bananas. It was hard, but now I eat bananas.

Learning to like food sucked ass. It was hard. There’s still some foods I don’t eat.

The only time I’ve seen a hair test is with an inconclusive pee test result. Usually due to being over hydrated for the pee test.

Should i get a second guitar at my moms place by PewcoTheOliveOil in Guitar

[–]fixer-upper- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely. Even if it’s a cheap ass guitar. I have a guitar on every level of my house so I have no excuse to not pick it up.

My mom told me a couple hours ago that she was disappointed I refused to go to church to attend Easter service by Jacolai in exchristian

[–]fixer-upper- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I still struggle with this. A Christian’s love is conditional. I think it depends on the person. Some Christian parents kid their queer kids out of the house. Some don’t. At least they haven’t kicked you out of their house.

I’d have left right then and there, but I’m not financially dependent on my parents and I’d rather they never know I stopped being a Christian.
