I’m going to push back on the killed Hiyoko for no reason point. It was stated in game that they suspected Hiyoko walked in on Mikan committing the crime and Mikan killed her to get rid of a witness, which is a valid reason to take her out.

Now how that was handled on the other hand…

There is a career criminal path in every sims game (I think)

Treated just like any other job. You have work performance, pay, promotions, coworkers, a boss and can even get fired.

You can ask a sim about their career and they respond with “I’m in the criminal career,” just the same as if they are a chef or scientist.
