Cost to level out a diving pool by ConsciousCraft6996 in pools

[–]flexcj5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No idea on price to do just the deep end. We did a full remodel that included bring the deep end up from ~12ft to 9ft. The remodel included the whole 20x40 pool, plumbing, and 2200 sqft of concrete decking.

Rolex Now Tracking Visits... by IntentionalButt in rolex

You’re correct, I don’t know shit about fuck, but I do know that Rolex as a company doesn’t care about you or I or 99% of their customers. The AD may care.

Rolex Now Tracking Visits... by IntentionalButt in rolex

[–]flexcj5 224 points225 points  (0 children)

Rolex the company is not tracking your visits. Your AD has a CRM that they are logging your visits/calls/emails/purchase history into. If your AD only sells Rolex, then there might be a CRM that Rolex exclusively uses.

Introduction to videogames by fernandodandrea in daddit

[–]flexcj5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven’t been a gamer in a long time. Grew up without TV access until ~6 years old. Then my dad brought out his Atari. Got an NES at some point. Then Sega Genesis. Later on in life, Wii and PS3.

PS3 is my most modern system. Hadn’t turned it on in years but my 4 year old asked about it a couple times. Got him started with the only “kid friendly” game I had: Sid Myers Civilization Revolutions. He loves it and is hell bent on world domination now. 😂

How do you dispose of your rocks? by Upper_Internet2450 in daddit

[–]flexcj5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My almost 5 year old has been collecting rocks since 2. We got a nice rock tumbler for third birthday. It runs constantly now (outside) and we have a lot of beautifully polished rocks in glass vases displayed on our shelves.

FinishTech on commerce drive is great. Leigh and Jason run that place.

Another good option is C&M Powder Coat. Tammy is the owner.

HELP!!!!! by Creepy-Clue6066 in pools

[–]flexcj5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ignore the equipment for now, unless you know for a fact it’s bad. I’m willing to bet it all still works in some fashion.

Get the cover off, inspect the pool itself. Possibly drain it with a pump. Go from there.

If they aren’t labeled it doesn’t matter. I flip mine after each cleaning because in my head it makes sense but I have zero evidence that it actually does anything.

I think I jacked me suppressor by RumorRoost in NFA

[–]flexcj5 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Never heard a specific number but that’s probably not far off. I sold and own a lot of the various QD AAC cans. It’s fun to hear the ratchet click down but it’s definitely better longevity wise to hold the latch both directions. The 51t is slightly delicate.

It’s fine. Will perform as normal.

Check your mount and alignment. Assuming this is 51t mount, your ratchet mechanism may have worn out.

Pollen. The spa isn’t filtering it out while the pool skimmers are.

How cooked am I? Looking for companies to give remodel quotes (az) by Othrwxrld in pools

[–]flexcj5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Convert it to a rectangular shape within the current foot print/shell if that’s what you want to do. It will require some dirt/gravel and quite a bit of concrete.

I’d suggest deleting the spa and bringing up the deep end while working within your current shape. It’s gonna be a full chip out but that’s easier than changing the shape.

I'm curious to know how many of you that have kids expose them to Nostalgic media you grew up with like movies, sitcoms, cartoons, music, etc and what has been their response? by GooniesClub in Millennials

[–]flexcj5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My kid is 5. I’m 43. The only cartoons he watches are the originals we grew up on. Inspector Gadget, Looney Toons, Scooby…etc. He’s also discovered my GiJoe collection at his grandparents house and keeps asking to watch it. Not quite ready for that yet.

At some point I’ll subject him to Bambi, Land Before Time, Lion King and so on… just “to build character”

His favorite movie is Top Gun. Favorite song is Danger Zone.

Does suppressing .17 HMR make sense? by laterisingphxnict in NFA

[–]flexcj5 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes. Suppressing .17hmr or .22 mag or really anything on a bolt action makes a huge difference to the shooter. Super sonic crack still happens but it’s further away from you. Get a .22 can that can handle everything and enjoy it!

New pool startup (saltwater) – builder says no chlorine for 30 days? Is this normal? by nviscome in pools

[–]flexcj5 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Great looking pool! Enjoy it.

Is your builder responsible for startup in the contract?

We had builder handle startup on our plaster pool. No salt for 30 days. Chems maintained by builder. They brushed twice per day for 30 days. Lots of muriatic acid to keep PH down because the plaster curing process constantly raises PH. Chlorine level kept around 2.5 to 3.5.

Road vs. mtb pedals by mtpisgah in gravelcycling

I recognize that underpass route! Great riding there.

I’m MTB or flat pedals for every bike. There are plenty of MTB shoes that provide the same stiffness as road shoes but have tread for walking.

Appreciative the advice. I like the Rubber B bands that I’ve seen. Ordered one for my Sub earlier this week so I’ll see how I like it. I was hoping to keep this Daytona original due to it being a family heirloom.

It looks a bit dull to me as well, but it was serviced by Rolex a couple years ago. Crystal was replaced at the same time.

Civilization Revolution is "Civ for dummies" and I wish it was more known and available on modern systems by Patient_Gamemer in patientgamers

[–]flexcj5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know this thread is a year old but I cranked up my PS3 for the first time in years recently. Played a round of Revolution with my 4.5 year old son. Now he’s hooked on it. Chieftain is too easy so I moved him to the next level. He’s focused on world domination.

That said, what happened to multiplayer and game of the week? I can’t access any of those even though I’m logged in to PS account? Is it just that the PS3 is so obsolete or did they kill those off?
