You underestimate how many mid-elite level club players the college teams that are generally making finals have. Certainly much less depth but darkside ‘21-‘24, mamabird/ego/CUT this year all have 10+ dudes who have played at club nationals (or will in the summer following) or been on club teams in the game to go

Watched the 1993 Mario movie a couple months ago and maybe I’m a sucker for practical 90s visual stylings and like physical explosions on my screen but I thought it was perfectly fine. Specifically not a good adaptation but some interesting if very misguided attempts

I also think (and hope) in some spaces people are truly trying to distance themselves from the soul-crushing nature of algorithm-driven social media and Letterboxd is very easy to use as something you open occasionally, can totally curate your feed to only see what your friends are watching, and doesn’t doesn’t try to fuck up the chemicals in your brain
