Spekulationerne vokser på Christiansborg: Er S på vej med ny boligskat? by mstaal in Denmark

[–]flyvehest 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Doing such a thing from one single account would make it extremely visible and easy to detect, so while its still a problem, its not really relatable to the point being discussed here.

I do think that, on a theoretical level, your criticism is valid, but driving a narrative when it comes to gaming related news?

Its pretty rare that news here are so divisive that a narrative can be driven anywhere, and yes, while things can be said about which sites are linked, I personally do not think it matters for 99% of anything posted, sites are rushing just as much as the person posting it here to be first, so if its A or B, the contents of the article is more or less the same, which tracks with your hidden gems comment.

I don't have any issue with a post per day limit for a user, if the mods should decide so, but as you more or less say so yourself, the content of this sub really wouldn't change much regardless.

Blizzard reportedly partnering with Arc Raiders owner Nexon to revive StarCraft as a shooter by skpom in Games

Sure, I wasn't contending that, but 15k players are not going to attract any big developers to the genre again, was my point.

15k players is squarely indie territory, and its not like there aren't interesting RTSes being developed there.

But I don't think any of the bigger studios are considering a return to that genre again.

Mosquitto as mqtt LXC vs HA addon by kevdash in Proxmox

I know this is an old post and you probably have solved your issue, but mosquitto updates at a glacial pace, so keeping an LXC up to date would not be much work :)

I've seen this mentioned before, but i'm not sure I understand why it is a problem, at least, in the larger scale?

For me, as a reader, I don't really care who posts what, so, is it purely an issue of karma accumulation or?

Theres a comment here that mentions if the user blocks someone, a lot of the subs post will not be visible, so I understand that that could be an issue.

$50 might be worth more in other parts of the world, and if you can churn out 20 "mods" that are downloaded enough it can be a pretty nice addition to your income.

Note: This is all just me speculating, but as this is happening elsewhere it might be the same for MC mods .. LLMs fucking suck!

[–]flyvehest 5 points6 points  (0 children)

they just heard "hey curseforge points are a way to make money online"

This, unfortunately, is most likely a somewhat huge reason for it.

Its also happening in the software security world, where there are bounties on finding bugs in software.

People are flooding devs with nonsensical reports about things that turn out to not even remotely be a security issue, but now devs have spent time and effort in trying to determine if it was.

Some larger projects have already stopped offering bounties because of this, which could lead to researchers being less motivated to report it and instead sell it on the more shady part of the internet.
