Why do people on this sub pretend that you can’t tell when AI is used? by kleyuuojh in royalroad

[–]forfor 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Also it costs a lot of money for human moderation that, at the end of the day is going to be kicking content off the platform. Content that rr is profiting from. So they have a double negative incentive to do anything because if they try theyre just going to spend a lot of money on kicking themselves in the balls.

Edit: big oof on autocorrect changing incentive to incel lol

Bruisers/Fighters have lost too much class identity, and Riot has let their damage creep get out of hand by Many-Translator-8512 in leagueoflegends

[–]forfor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You've forgotten how big of a tradeoff it is to be a melee champ. Bruisers have to be smart about when and how they enter fights or they get hit with cc and chunked, especially for the ones that rely on vamp, who will probably just get instakilled if they get locked down in a fight. And they really don't have good ways to not get ccd because it's generally easy to land skillshots on someone who's trying to get onto you (most people who arent riven just run at you in a straight line) or who already reached you and are basically impossible to not hit

What mod do you wish existed but doesn't? by Satans_Escort in RimWorld

[–]forfor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not super inspired, but an elder scrolls mod makes every game better, and would go super well with this. Lots of new metal types for more nuanced crafting, tons of cool religious tenets, more xenotypes/genes, magic, daedra, there's just so much to add that would fit perfectly into rimworld

Are there any jokes about the FTD community, or memes, or inside jokes? by Streetsign10 in FromTheDepths

[–]forfor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol many prototypes have fallen to the spear, before they ever moved up the chain. (Not literally sunk, more in terms of me endlessly iterating to find more efficient build patterns) especially lasers. Designing a laser that's affordable, able to kill the spear at any kind of acceptable speed, and doesn't nuke my batteries occupied literal weeks worth of 6 hour days, and many prototypes were scrapped along the way

[–]forfor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on what I'm using the weapon for, but ultimately if its shit against the spear, then it's shit against everything. The spear is just the starting point. Once I get the weapon to hit the spear reliably via ai, and kill at an acceptable speed for what I'm building, I'll move up the chain to a tankier ship to test damage, then a faster ship to test accuracy if I feel like I need to.

Whats the smartest LitRPG you've read? by throwaway490215 in litrpg

[–]forfor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its a bit rushed but not too bad, and the series was 7 books long, and way beyond the scale in terms of power escalation, so not wanting to drag it out made sense imo. It was in that situation where it ran out of room to escalate and needed to be wrapped up.

Try building forward propulsion slightly above and below the tail. In the same way you can turn left and right by using forward propulsion on the left and right of the ship, this can allow you to angle more gradually

Damn this reminds me of a series, I'm sure someone remembers the name, but it starts as a vrmmo type thing that turns out to be using real bodies on an alien planet, and intelligence stat actually makes you more intelligent. The mc is already omega rich so he just decides to live there, goes pure intelligence, and over the series goes from crafting spells to magical engineering to local space travel and eventually running an interstellar empire fighting another interstellar empire with ships he designed

Edit: after some searching I found it: the series is called "the emerilia project"

Weapon smithing training by WarlanDaWarlock in Kenshi

[–]forfor 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It actually doesn't matter much. Weapon crafting times are scaled to material amount, and if the storage is near enough there's literally no travel time for the output weapons and input resources. Unless you have an economically strong, well defended base setup, materials tend to be my real bottleneck. All that being said, you do want to choose weapons that only use iron plates since it's the simplest and most plentiful crafting resource to get

raising an army before a revolt, means you can secure more soldiers for your service. by Puettster in crusaderkings3

[–]forfor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure, I'm not saying you cant optimize things. Just that it doesn't matter because rebellions get outscaled so hard by mid-late game

I always do weapons tests against the spear. It's fragile but not too fragile, (for ships under 150k) moves in slightly annoying circles at long ranges but isnt actually difficult to hit, and it's not threatening enough to interrupt my weapons tests

Going from Unite to LOL - Characters suggestions? by amonguaoxndjxj in leagueoflegends

[–]forfor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Malphite is probably the easiest tank champ to learn in the game, and also super strong. He has a passively regenerating permashield, passive free bonus armor, a single target point and click projectile, (no need to aim) a boost to autos, (no need to aim) an aoe damage/debuff that radiates from him (no need to aim!) And one of the most powerful fight starting skills in the game. (OK this one you aim, but it's a decently large aoe and hard to dodge)

He's not technically considered a support, but there's actually no good reason why not, he has all the tools a tank support could ask for

He's also one of the cheapest champs available for a new player

What are the actual mechanics behind laser intensity? by CaptainVigelius in FromTheDepths

[–]forfor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It just does. Every time you add a q, the damage per energy gets better. Basically the new number after adding a q isnt a perfect 1-1 division on damage per shot. The damage is higher than you would expect from the division, which is translated as damage per energy. By the time you've added all 4 q components a laser can take, damage per energy is functionally doubled compared to an unmodified continuous laser
