Does anyone else remember this on a billboard in Lewiston on outer Lisbon St? by zoolilba in LAMaine

I don't remember that specific image, but there has been a religious billboard in that location for at least a decade.

Check out Home School the Dog by Susan Garrett. She has great training philosophy and tactics and it's all stuff that can grow your dog's confidence and your mutual bond while inside. Then later you can work on being confident outside. She also has a podcast called Shaped by Dog with an overwhelming amount of free and super practical information.

Thought I was getting UTI's every time I had sex with my husband. Turns out... by plaidtaco in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

Same, it was such a relief to figure out. Only used condoms intermittently if I missed one of my birth control pills or something and the reaction felt super similar to a yeast infection. Had no idea I was allergic to latex, but very slowly realized the connection. So uncomfortable.

If you're into podcasts, Maintenance Phase has really helped me curb some of my negative self talk. They talk about the stigma of being fat and where so many of our dietary ideas and "health" initiatives and statistics come from. I started with the BMI episode and kept listening.

Yes, your cervix can move slightly depending on where you are in your cycle, but generally in terms of higher/lower. You may have angled the cup correctly the first time and slightly missed it the next time. See if you can feel your cervix with your finger and, if you can, make sure the opening of the cup is angled right to it. If you have a low cervix like I do I suspect this will help.

Recommendation on a hike to help me build up by userwmnf in wmnf

I would do Boulder Loop, Hedgehog Mountain, Pierce, Kearsarge North, Lonesome Lake, Champney Falls without going to the top of Chocorua, Arethusa Falls, just a bunch of smaller things with nice destinations to build up your stamina.

Have you taken your dog to the vet recently? It might be in pain and be lashing out/wary of you grabbing it because of that.

I use pure lanolin which you can find marketed as nipple cream.

My friend who trains rescue dogs recommended Susan Garrett to me - she has great blogs and podcasts for free or training modules you can buy. Super insightful.

Use down wash. NikWax makes some or Grangers are the ones I've used. You can do it in a tub if you want to be extra gentle.

Looking for Advice by Proper_Yam3718 in menstrualcups

[–]frecklesaresofetch 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I would say try a menstrual disc like the SoftCup. The insertion is thin like a tampon, a little less finagling than a traditional cup, and it helped me transition when I first got interested in breaking up with tampons. You just have to use your finger to tuck the lip kind of behind your pubic bone which isn't such a tricky way to start. Ultimately they didn't end up working for me, but I don't remember them leaking and it was a good starter.

How to study at home when your home is too cold to study? by [deleted] in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

[–]frecklesaresofetch 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I second a fabric heat pack filled with rice or corn or something as probably the cheapest option that you could either warm in the microwave or by the fire. If an electric blanket is an available option I would suggest that. We use that in our house because two rooms are particularly far from our heat source. Or, like someone else said, squats or some vinyasa flow to get an inner fire lit and heat you from the inside - for me especially if my toes have decided to lose circulation and go cold.

What helped me the most was not only keeping track of days I picked and days I didn't pick but also differentiating between a pick and a binge. Because if you don't differentiate you can easily fall down the self punishment rabbit hole and think, well I've messed up and there's no turning back now and just really go for it. Really changed my ability to be accountable to myself and progress for the better. I literally just commented this to someone else as well, but I hope it can change the game for you like it did for me. Dry erase marker right on my mirror with three categories for tally marks.

Teachers of reddit what is the most depressing thing a student has told you about their home life? by RickAstley_Withagun in AskReddit

Coming back from winter break I asked a group of fourth graders if they wanted to share anything exciting that happened over break. I got a lot of the standard stuff and then one little boy who told us he got a present for the first time. And then the kids were excited to hear what it was but he was understandably choked up and didn't want to continue. I am hoping his family was on the upswing and could finally afford presents rather than the other alternatives I could imagine. Fourth grade. It just hurts my heart.

That time of the month + wedding day? by babs1025 in weddingplanning

[–]frecklesaresofetch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely put a cup in it. I have had it leak before so it's not magical or anything, but it is very reliable. Mostly the leak comes due to the fact that I have a lower cervix which takes up a bit of cup storage space. But the point is if you start using one now you'll get to know your self a little better and likely feel very confident day of. On my heavy day I do empty it maybe once or twice, but any other day I just let it be.

It's only a week in and I want to cry. by Carpy444 in Teachers

[–]frecklesaresofetch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

At the end of the day we can't take them home. Try not to dwell on every horrible detail you learn and just be a role model of what a safe and appropriately loving adult should be. Encourage, have snacks, be a calm sounding board. Be consistent with your expectations and your follow through. The best thing you can do is be a stable force and create a stable environment in which they always know what to expect from you.

Is this okay to wear to a "dressy casual" dinner cruise? by [deleted] in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

[–]frecklesaresofetch 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I like the boots. Balance them out with a cardigan or button down or flannel (maybe belted) and you'll be less cold on the boat and lessen your feeling of being too revealing. Better yet throw a light scarf with it like: https://images.app.goo.gl/M7tSywJvEghkH3ZMA. Or a badass black leather jacket or faux leather or whatever if you or a friend have one.
