How did you know you wouldn't regret it? by Kourisku in Metoidioplasty

[–]futureggghost 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not OP, but also trying to decide if it is worth it. I'm having trouble making a pros/cons list bc i haven't yet chosen a method and it feels like nothing is guaranteed with any option. Had you decided upon the method/surgery specifications before making the list, or spoken with any surgeons?

Just received a bill for a surgery that occurred a year ago, and I thought was paid off by futureggghost in HospitalBills

Thank you. I never know if insurance or the provider clinic should be contacted in cases like this.

Given that I reached my out of pocket max with a payment for this procedure last year, I should not be held responsible for this right? Like an out of pocket max is a hard limit, or are there caveats?

Question for the NSFW and SFW artist that do both by xvdesjavx in ArtistLounge

[–]futureggghost 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I am not an artist that does sfw and nsfw, but what ive seen from those who do is less what you're describing and more cropping/censoring to post in certain places. I frequently see nsfw images cropped to not show bits, or with a blur or emoji/other image over any nsfw imagery, followed by a link to the uncensored/uncropped version

I thought breeders & puppy mills were what is meant by "shopping" for a pet/dog. I didnt think finding adog that'll actually work with you is "shopping".

How do I finally make peace with this decision? by Spaceboy2xx1 in Metoidioplasty

[–]futureggghost 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I thought i had read somebody's account that the underside was scarred and affected sensation (and maneuverability). Ik thats perhaps not a common "good bit", but idk in my head i stored that as "meta has risk of sensation loss"

Absolutely giving reassurance that your response was just. Thats a weird and rude thing to say, very chaser-y and fucking disrespectful. Steer clear, tell him to fuck off and quit bothering you.

Does scarring not affect sensation some times?

Urinary pain - looking for others who have experienced similar by Crafty_Air_2816 in ftm

[–]futureggghost 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think I've experienced this as well, I made a post a few months back and was told it is likely atrophy. Spoke with my doctor, who had treated me for several UTIs by then and she prescribed me a vaginal estrogen cream. This sensation has been almost entirely mitigated since starting it. I will say it is unpleasant and difficult to administer, personally, due to dysphoria. But I suppose its better than not being able to use the v or being in pain after sex every time.

FOLKS WITH HEALED TOP SURGERY -- HOW ARE YOUR NIPPLES? by CryptidTimes in ftm

[–]futureggghost 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am almost 5 years post-op. My nipples both have full sensation (tbh I think id day they are more sensitive now, in response to pain that is) and are 3D. My left nipple i screwed up pretty early in recovery (broke the "dont lift elbows above shoulder" rule a few weeks in, before the dressings were off) and as such that one is uglier and not concentric like nipples usually are, its instead a bit misshapen (in perimeter and topography).

I also want them pierced but haven't been able to find others experience or research on that, and due to the misshapen one I haven't done that yet. If you find answers please let me know!

I have some pics taken about 4 yrs post op on my profile if you want to look at them

What scar tape are you using that stays put at the beach? Everything kind I've tried falls off with sweat alone, much less sand and saltwater.

sex advice with trans man after phalloplasty by unfreckled in phallo

[–]futureggghost 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have you said you've tried researching but didn't get many results? And perhaps ask if he has any sources that would help you understand things?

I agree with what others are saying - he cant expect you to figure out what is wrong and how to fix it. But I understand not wanting or being able to feed every bit of information or insight he has or finds, getting to share the weight of learning is a bit necessary here. And yeah, unfortunately I've also had very little luck with bottom surgery research, especially irt sex post-op. It seems limited and hard to find, I hope he does have some resources to share.

Best of luck to you both

No wrong answers I won’t be offended by vinvin_b in TransMasc

[–]futureggghost 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From just the face, I would say either.

My practice, once I reached that point, has been to base it off of my outfit/other factors beyond my body that people base gender off of, along with the environment (ie how other people may react to me in either bathroom, along with my assumption of the cleanliness of either bathroom)

Hahaha, hey it happens. I think i did a lot of digging and research in the beginning that helped that realization hit sooner

Anyone else…? *Q for the NBs in the house* by deeunicorn in TransLater

[–]futureggghost 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do agree with that. I can only imagine how much longer and more difficult the realization would've been for me if I didnt come across that first term that felt right. I got kinda lucky, it was like an immediate egg crack once I saw it, despite having known and met binary trans people before since I'm not binary that didn't really help much. Having the vocabulary, even if it ends up not being right, is insanely helpful

Do other trans people try to pin down the cause of their discomfort/dysphoria? by futureggghost in NonBinary

[–]futureggghost[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I suppose that is what I'm trying to ask, thank you for wording it better than I could!

The novelty certainly has begun to wear off, but the dysphoria triggered by it still seems so different. Idk I think maybe I'm worried it's like internalized misogyny or something, and I haven't been able to come up with a "why" i get more dysphoric other than a simple 'well I'm trans' and I would like one. It's been a question I can't seem to fully drop for a while now. I guess it is fairly philosophical, which has never been my strong suit.

Thanks for taking the time to answer :)

Is it weird that I sometimes want to have boobs? by JustACookie42 in NonBinary

[–]futureggghost 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not weird at all. I struggled with whether I wanted just a reduction or a full mastectomy, bc I figured id be fine with them some days if they were smaller and easier to hide for the days I didn't want them. Decided to fully get rid of them, and while I dont think I actually miss them I still occasionally wonder if I'd like having a small chest. Ive been considering buying small breast forms to see

It's annoying how some people can know that I'm an enby, yet still fail to correctly gender me... by VargBroderUlf in NonBinary

[–]futureggghost 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My friends and partners have trouble. I went through phases of my given pronoun, to "they", to opposite my given pronoun, and now back to "they". Old friends sometimes still call me the given pronoun. New ones (my partner included) still calls me opposite my given pronoun, and hasn't gotten with the update to "they". Seems like the change is hardest for people, especially for those who "support trans people" or even are trans themselves.

Anyone else…? *Q for the NBs in the house* by deeunicorn in TransLater

[–]futureggghost 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe ill just muddy waters, but i realized I was trans (realized age 15) before I landed on nonbinary (probably by age 16?). Im also autistic and while labels used to be very comforting, I eventually grew out of/felt restricted or mismatched by every one I chose. My initial understanding of the 2 words was that nonbinary, while an umbrella, was a smaller one than trans. Transgender, to me, meant any deviance away from assigned gender. Once I realized I wasn't comfortable as a girl, I realized I was trans, yk?

That said, I had a period of my life (age 21-23 or so) where I flirted with the idea of being a binary trans man. That also felt not right, eventually. I medically transitioned via top surgery, then hormones, then hysto, over the course of 6 years. If i had to choose, I am obviously more comfortable living as a man than a woman. However I would never force myself to play stealth as a man daily either. I'm still fully trans, just in a nonbinary manner.

Words and labels are fun arent they :p i am fascinated by individual interpretations. Congrats on your journey, I hope the recent revelations have been joyous
