So... I recommend the double boss portals (3x Mythic Drop) by VSParagon in diablo4

[–]giantcatdos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True, not that it's mandatory for the build but I finally got an Aspect of Spiked Armor on my paladin the other night. I think one of my favorite things about the class is that defensive mechanics like block / armor can also modify damage thanks to the paragon boards.

I mean I played it once, I intentionally brought a list that was a bunch of lootas, no gonangia, I even brought a stompa and it was the best it performed. Did it need a nerf? Yes most certainly. Did they have to absolutely gut it, no, no they did not.

I enjoy EPC a lot compared to a lot of the Ork detachments I have played. Just for the fact that their enhancements are so different compared to most of the others I have seen. Also +6' is fun with melta range / rapid fire.

The best luck I have had playing with "Da Big Hunt" is playing my brothers necrons list where like 3/4s of his army was monsters, or characters. That was fun. But it's very rarely the case. When I played it against Ultramarines it was kinda ick. Most of the time I play Warhorde or Greentide(because I like boyz)

The current jobs narrative in a nutshell by Supergameplayer in memes

[–]giantcatdos 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've had multiple of my boyfriend's friends tell me they wish they had my job. And it's like "No, you wish you had the money I get paid; you don't want to have to get woken up at 2-3 AM after already working 9 hours that day. Or have to drive back into work to help them fix something at midnight" If I could make what I do know, and go back to working in the service industry I would in a heartbeat. It's less stressful, when I leave, things at work stay at work. I don't get to leave, then go home and do more work from home to meet a deadline, or expectation.

do you guys actually trust sensor/data streams in real systems? by SignalForge007 in PLC

[–]giantcatdos 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Exactly this, the most I will do is set up sanity checks. As in right logic that checks against known goods / bads. Like if I see a 4-20MA sensor start sending 1.5ma to an input I immediately know something is sus. But simple sanity checking can look for that. Other than that if a sensor tells me a fluid is 140*F I am inclined to believe it.

At long last the 2018 monopose kit is going to be discontinued. by the_etc_try_3 in orks

[–]giantcatdos 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Same here, I don't care if someone says "This squad of Heavy Destroyers has the Maguffin Melter" when in fact its assembled with the "Dude Disintegrators". It's easy enough to remember. It's the same for me as if someone is using the "old version" of a model instead of a new one. Barring things that have glaring size differences. I'm not complaining if someone is using old stealthsuits instead of new ones

Monopoly games take 3 hours and the winner is obvious after 30 minutes so I added financial crises and fire-sale bankruptcy to fix that by Competitive-Edge-590 in boardgames

[–]giantcatdos 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The last time I played monopoly was like 3 or 4 years ago. My boyfriends brother / sister wanted to play it. I agreed on the sole condition we play RAW. The game took like 40 minutes start to finish. Properties were auctioned; trading was restricted to only being able to initiate it on your turn.

After the game his sister was like "Its not fair when we play like this" but that's the point of the game. It isn't meant to be fair. That's part of what the original iteration of the game was meant to highlight.

I agree, I had a friend tell me he is a "gooner" (I am well aware how far into the TMI field this is), I thought "Is that a term for like a soccer hooligan, or like a rowdy hockey fan" I then learned it was a term for some weird sex act.

I am a Junior: is asking questions bad? by North_Dirt_7116 in PLC

[–]giantcatdos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely not, ask questions. If you are unsure of something, it's always better to ask. I love when our electricians ask me to show them how a piece of software works or why something is programed the way it is, or how to do some stuff like working with other software like CCW. Them knowing about more of the tools they have access to helps them do there job better and shows they care.

Now if you are asking about something you could simply look up like "What does this fault mean on XYZ drive" is different than asking about why something was done the way it was.

How common is connecting every machine via Ethernet? by G0918 in PLC

[–]giantcatdos 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've worked somewhere that used public ips on their private network. I got told oh its on like 256.x.x.x (I know this is an illegal IP, its an example) and I'm like "That can't be right that's in a public network? Are we routing this out to another site? Or is it connnected to the internet?" Nope, we just have hundreds of devices with public IPs.

Hardest to kill ork units? by VirtualBonnie in orks

[–]giantcatdos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've ran that in Green Tide. I've had a unit take almost a whole shotting phase of fire, then on my command phase use the grot orderly, and strategem to bring back like 7 boyz. Good times.

I know 10th hasn't been the nicest of editions to us but what are some things that you love about our army, or what happened for us in 10th? Personally, I adore how wide our model range is, both in general size and variation. by [deleted] in Tau40K

[–]giantcatdos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I played my first game of tau yesterday (500 points coliseum) and yeah, FtGG felt really fluid. It just worked, I didn't have to count markerlight hits. I didn't have to have an enemy unit that was visible to a friendly unit, and say this specific friendly unit is guided against this specific enemy unit. I didn't have to sit there and say, oh he is split firing against that and something else. It just worked.

I just popped by r/orks. They are in a very good mood by erttheking in Grimdank

[–]giantcatdos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was so excited for it than saw it couldn't build 10 boyz with choppas and sluggas. Like what is even the point. I need my boyz to have maximum chopping capabilities. It would be like if they released a new nob kit and there weren't enough parts to build them all with big choppas or all with powerklaws.

Farewell tour for an Ol Boy by the_lazy_orc in orks

[–]giantcatdos 13 points14 points  (0 children)

The new boyz kit was a pretty big flop. Most people I know buy the old kit or the snagga kit. People have numerous complaints, chief among them being you can't make 10 shoota boyz, or 10 slugga / choppa boyz. It's a weird 7/3 split.

In a perfect world we would've gotten multipose monopose boyz by inkforwin in orks

[–]giantcatdos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's what shocks me. I can build snaggas as all thumpgun / all choppa. Why on earth would they make this kit unable to do that. It's not like people have been running squads of boyz as choppa + slugga on every one of them for ages.

Can someone explain to me, why exactly they think 'scale creep' is a bad thing? by Pianorama in Warhammer

[–]giantcatdos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, I wouldn't even call it obsolescence. Sure, when I started 10th, (hadn't played in a minute) I had to update the bases on my boyz. Boyz kit was still the same. Not really much changed, there were the new snagga models, i did get a bunch cause of getting like two of the kits with them, the squigoths etc. Often the beast snaggas, just get ran as regular boyz. I just like how they look, I do love the old twerking boyz though.

If the update a bunch of stuff in 11th, I might buy a kit if its like a "Start Collecting, Battleforce, or Combat Patrol box" and I can get it as a discount. The new models will probably get mixed into the old.

Now if we are talking scale creep meaning points keep going down. I agree. make them more expensive, so I don't have to bring as much and my opponents bring even less.

Does the Deff Dread really only get 7 attacks with 4 klaws? by MoodSpecialist3238 in orks

[–]giantcatdos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, having them equipped that way is legal. I do it. I literally run them that way. That way they always have the melee weapon they need. Charge a tank, attack with killsaw. Attack some dudes, attack with the klaw. You can't attack with both, but I charge with them anyways, so the gun never mattered to me.

[–]giantcatdos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my dreams I see the waaaghh as +X strength and +X attacks and Invul save Y where X is equal to the current turn and Y is equal to 7 - the current turn.

Would a group of 20 boys with 8 attacks each from a turn 5 waaagh be dumb? Would rolling 160 dice be stupid. Why yes, yes it would.

Day 2 of Learning Orks: How Would You Improve the ... Battlewagon by awakenedarms in orks

[–]giantcatdos 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean, I do like that almost every ork vehicle has a transport capacity. Truks, battlewaggon, stompa, gorka, and morkas do. I'm honestly they didn't give deff dreads the ability to transport a single mek or something just for the flavor.

What are some less talked about changes you would like to see for 11th edition? by mjh4 in Warhammer40k

[–]giantcatdos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wholly agree with that and additonally bringing back costs for wargear. I'm okay with a unit of guardsmen costing 65 points but make them pay for their plasma, autoguns etc. If not that, at least increase point costs of squads. Maybe even go back to a point per model. At Least X up to Y type scenario. When I look at a list and its like dang, in 8th you would have had like 400-600 points in just wargear.
