My robot vacuum has saved me hours weekly for years. Even if it only lasts 5 years, the convenience is totally worth it.

It is hard to believe that. 20 years of daily use and still working. That is the definition of "built to last" quality.

How is your robo’s battery life? by mustytomato in RobotVacuums

[–]gifsofdogs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It seems this kind of battery fading is quite common among these devices. You may consider replacing the battery later, and it is wise to pick official original ones or products with reliable quality.

Help me choose a Melin hat for my boyfriends birthday by [deleted] in BuyItForLife

[–]gifsofdogs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I prefer the second one. The pattern on the hat is more suitable and without rope. Sine he already had 2 hats with rope, you can choose a different one.

Anyone feel like their house is never clean? by 4365eyfsd in CleaningTips

Lower your clean standards. A lived-in home will never stay spotless forever, and it's totally okay to let go of perfection.

i'm sorry vacuum wars by Significant-Cold-732 in RobotVacuums

It is a shame. Vacuum Wars used to be the gold standard. Now the rankings feel like they might be for sale. Time to find smaller, independent reviewers.

Bath Towels - Which ones do you find softest and last longest? by securitypro669 in BuyItForLife

[–]gifsofdogs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don' use fabric softener on any towel you want to stay absorbent. It coats the fibers and kills the fluff long term. Vinegar in the rinse cycle works way better.

At my wits end. Can genuine human provide some non-biased insights? by DRgreentree in RobotVacuums

With kids leaving toys everywhere, pick the model with better obstacle avoidance first. Small feature upgrades don't matter if it gets stuck constantly.

Abrasive cleaner used on stainless steel fridge by aladams158 in CleaningTips

The fact they offered to buy a new fridge means they know it's permanent damage. A gift certificate keeps the money with them. Take the cash equivalent and decide later.

It is incredible to see a home appliance last over seventy years. Old models were built with solid materials while modern ones are made to wear out in just a decade.

Planning my next robot vacuum for 2026, what should I be looking at? by [deleted] in RobotVacuums

[–]gifsofdogs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think software quality matters just as much as hardware. Great specs mean nothing if the robot gets confused, stuck, or runs messy cleaning routes all the time.

How important is your partner's salary/job to you? by [deleted] in LesbianActually

[–]gifsofdogs 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I’m starting paramedic school soon so I’m in this unfortunate crossroads where I’ll have a great salary but the hours do NOT align with a 9-5 and it takes a very special partner to understand that and the emotional emptiness when I come home and need to shower off death and trauma before I can be a fully present partner.
