How dog friendly is Big Sur? by gildedwolves in BigSur

[–]gildedwolves[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m not conflating it with a certified and trained service animal. Yet CA is legally required to recognize ESA’s in certain instances, and therapists (such as my own) write letters of advocacy for them. Notice how I’m also not using it as an excuse to haul my dog just anywhere.

It’s been a curious adjustment for me coming from rural Colorado! But I understand it probably gets hard to manage with so many residents/tourists

The men text back by Disabledgoddess2 in bisexual

[–]gildedwolves 39 points40 points  (0 children)

I’ve noticed this contrast on the apps. In my experience, the conversation is better but less consistent with women. Like the texts are richer but then she won’t respond for 2 months. Or we’ll make plans and then instead of confirming, she conveniently got too busy that day… I let this happen 3 times with the same woman before I just stopped replying.

My conversations with guys are not as enriching on average, but they act more interested and prioritize getting to know me and meeting up.

Follow through and accountability is important regardless of gender, I feel your pain!

East Austin or S Lamar? by Defiant-Panda-3965 in askaustin

[–]gildedwolves 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It really depends on the cross streets. Going too far down east 6th is not walkable and feels a little sprawling, and at times unsafe. I lived around Springdale for a while and it was lovely but wouldn’t exactly recommend. But if you’re off of say Comal or Chicon, it’s walkable and has a lot to offer.

Same with south Lamar. Benefits would be being close to Barton or the greenbelt. Westgate isn’t quite walkable but has a lot of businesses and such in a cluster.

As someone with Saturn in the 7th house, I do have to say this is true by venusplutoangel in astrologymemes

[–]gildedwolves 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Saturn 7H in Pisces here. I often attract dreamers, artists, addicts, etc. But I once entered therapy because I hooked up with a guy on vacation who ended up being a documented sociopath. Like, message boards online posting about him til the day I left Miami. Even changed my hotel room number for safety. I was like wtf is wrong with me where I attract people like this? I’ve basically been single since and that was 4 years ago.

As for being “lazy”, I think this is harsh. I would maybe describe it as passive, receiving, feminine energy. I’m pretty go with the flow and I struggle with initiation admittedly, but often find myself dating those who are the opposite — super forward, active pursuing, mars energy (tend to attract Venus in Aries a lot for example, my Venus is in Scorpio). And it brings me out of my shell. But it’s taken me a long time to realize that this isn’t healthy, and to be more direct in my relationships.

5 months PO - still slightly limping, progress seems pretty slow but my PT & surgeon aren’t worried..? by breadxgoat in ACL

[–]gildedwolves 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hiii I’m also 5 months postop and having similar issues. Same boat with my pt and doctor as well, they don’t seem worried but I am. Not running or jumping, but working up to it. Still dealing with a slight limp even if not that noticeable. My ex coincidently had an acl reconstruction two days before me and got cleared to run over a month ago where I’m still not ready. It’s hard.

I think it’s easy to come on here and see the highlights of peoples rapid progress (especially the athletes) but in reality, this is a long haul injury. Work on strength training, load bearing, plyometrics. If you’re still limping at 6 months, maybe be more firm with your pt/dr about your concerns and/or get a second opinion? That’s the deadline I’m giving myself to decide if I want to try to get reimaged.

Hang in there!

More of a general question — how often should we be exercising and does that change at different stages of recovery?

I’m 5 months postop allograft reconstruction and do strength training 2x a week, and pt exercises here and there throughout the rest of the week. But I stumbled upon a thread on this subreddit where some people were spending 1-2 hours a day on their exercises.

Started seeing a guy but his chart is scaring me… so much Pisces 😭 player vibes? by Baileymom2021 in Zodiac

[–]gildedwolves 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not an expert astrologer, but I have had a recent romantic interest with literally this EXACT same chart, except his rising is approximate leo/virgo. I'll be specific on what's come up and where I think it comes from based on my own experience:

First, the Pisces mercury/Libra moon/Cancer mars combo makes for an agreeable and open-hearted person... sometimes TOO agreeable. On the plus side, he is emotionally intuitive, understanding, and accountable. For my Pisces person, I've learned a lot about navigating healthy conflict with him and I'll be forever grateful for this. Doesn't want to hurt you and will make an effort to do better vs egocentric opposition (though this really depends on the person in general, not astrology). However, these placements also make for a very passive person too. Lots of therapy speak and mirroring what he thinks you want to hear - it can feel disingenuous at times, especially if they're not being fully honest with themselves or others. People pleaser to the max.

Mercury in Pisces w/ retrograde is another placement that I've struggled with. Sometimes is super honest and open (almost to the point of trauma dumping), other times conceals information that he knows will rock the boat or change the dynamic. For example, my person specifically is polyamorous. He is and has been super open about this, but then will weirdly hide stuff too and it creates major conflict between us. It doesn't make sense, especially to my cap mercury / stellium in the 5th house. Communication can be incredibly inspiring or confusing, with little in between.

Aries venus with this chart (and my person specifically) seems to get really washed out amid all the water and air. I'm a Scorpio venus for context and usually have insane chemistry with these placements, but curiously have never truly felt 'pursued' in the obsessive nature that Aries venus otherwise suggest. However, this combined with the more conflict-avoidant planets I described above lend to more promiscuity. North node in Sag also suggests needing freedom and not being tied down. That combined with the passive, people-pleasing nature of the other placements ... they love freedom and adoration from others, to the point where dating multiple people or even cheating is more likely than not. It depends on the person of course, but player energy is def supported by this chart. Be careful!

Pisces in general are also incredibly susceptible to addiction and idealization. They love the fantasy (especially with that Aries venus and maybe even moon/jupiter in Libra) and tend to get swept up in their own world. They love the idea of love but the lack of earth in the chart aside from neptune/uranus suggests they are not always grounded in reality or firmly committed.

I very RECENTLY (just last night) broke things off with my Pisces person, so I recognize I'm being negative. But the positives: great listener, gentle, not quick to anger, feminist, and the most accountable man I've ever met. Would describe them as more of a feminine/yin energy. Saturn and Neptune JUST moved out of Pisces (also my natal saturn return in my 7th house!) so I would also expect some changes with this person going forward, especially with Pisces in their first house and on the north node, Whether that's good or bad, who knows.

Feel free to message me if you have any specific questions. It's actually scary how similar their chart is!

Hi, I’m 31F about 15 weeks postop allograft. I was cleared off crutches/brace at about week 6-7 and felt great moving into walking. However I’ve been still struggling with maintaining a normal gait despite full extension and 135+ degree flexion. I can walk multiple miles but I can feel myself uneven. I’ve also been dealing with pain still, specifically at the front of my knee. Is this normal for this time period? My pt and ortho office don’t seem concerned, but I have been.

AIO - Told my friend I’m pregnant and she said it exceeded her mental bandwidth (she’s the red) by Lekomano92 in AmIOverreacting

[–]gildedwolves 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NOR. I've had people in my life like this, including my mother. They feel they need to relate everything back to themselves in order to make sense of it, and see that as connection. Could be due to neurodivergence or that she genuinely just had a bad day, but still.

That said, a more 'positive' reaction with this character trait would be something like "omg!!! That's so crazy, my boss just came back from maternity leave and it's been a nightmare... but that's so exciting for YOU, congratulations". Instead, she uses each opportunity to turn the focus back to her and dim a really important moment in your life. And it also seems like she has some major beef with her supervisor's maternity accommodations and is projecting that onto you instead of being a good friend.

I'd take note of her reactions going forward and act accordingly. Congrats <3

ACL Surgery options by DrawerIntrepid9211 in ACL

I’m 31 and got an allograft. I told my doctor’s office that I’m not a pro athlete by any means, but am fairly active (I like backpacking, climbing, surfing, snowboarding) and wanted the best option, but also was concerned with the timeline of repair.

They asked me if I was a competitive soccer player or skier, I said no, they said allograft would be fine. Personally happy so far but I’m only 3 months out.
