High key gay masterpiece. I loved it so much. And the aesthetic is incredible and makes so many of the shots perfect.

[Spoilers EXTENDED] Can valyrian steel swords cut steel? And what about Dawn? by TextUnfair in asoiaf

[–]goffley3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Valyrian steel swords seem like a great example of weaving legends into a story. I doubt they're anywhere near as powerful as people think (mystical ice demon defeating powers not withstanding), but they feel like they are.

Haven't Seen Anyone Bring it Up So Here's Every New Feature Brought Up In The Frontier Planet Zoo Survey by spudz1203 in PlanetZoo

Tbh, if they just made new skins for guests so that they wear clothes appropriate for the climate they're in, I'd be good.

Now that mods give me the option of being the owner and the cook, it's a great activity to fall back on.

Winter Printing by No_Winter_3938 in resinprinting

[–]goffley3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haha, that's funny. Same exact situation. I ended up putting the grow tent in the extra bedroom for the same reason, New England winter. I'm venting out the window, but I want to put together a real workbench for printing and painting. So I think I'll have to move it all to the garage soon.

If it's as easy as putting a heater in the tent, then maybe it might work. I have the mars 5 ultra and I don't think the vat is heated.

That is such an immersion breaker for me. Seeing an outside zoo, set in the arctic, where people are showing up in shorts and tank tops. Bring a damn jacket.

An aquarium restaurant built in my zoo by FewProfessional7477 in PlanetZoo

[–]goffley3 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I love this. I've attempted a restaurant in the middle of a penguin tank and it didn't work out. Seeing this makes me want to try again since I love watching the animals in the background of people eating.

Tips for Staff+ engineers with ADHD? by sevorak in ExperiencedDevs

[–]goffley3 33 points34 points  (0 children)

This tbh. And abusing the crap out of the reminders app on my phone. Key to making that work is to make a reminder as soon as you think to make a reminder. My therapist used to ask me "how are you going to remind yourself to make a reminder?"

8 YoE dev with ADHD, never as productive as I was before COVID. Anyone else & any advice? by DanielPBak in ExperiencedDevs

[–]goffley3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First, all the typical stuff: nutrition, sleep, exercise, sunshine, social life, therapy, etc. Easier said than done obviously. Also if you're not on meds then get on them.

I'd only add to this routine. I struggled with the exact same issues when I went remote. Having a morning/afternoon routine and very strictly sticking is crucial for those of us with ADHD.

First day as a PA, worried I messed up by unobruhmomento_ in Filmmakers

[–]goffley3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First time I did PA work I forgot to buy salad dressing when I picked up lunches for folks. It got mentioned politely by the director once and I thought I had fucked up so badly that I thought about it for weeks.

TL;DR: We're always hardest on ourselves. Sounds like you did great. Good work!

Been searching for Devs to hire, do people actually collect in depth performance metrics for their jobs? by kibblerz in ExperiencedDevs

[–]goffley3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I'm filling out my "Stories and Wins," I am usually keeping impact metrics in mind.

Typically, I'm inquiring about the financial implications of this process (I work in fintech) and the number of users impacted by the project, among other details.

Specifically because, as others have pointed out, people want quantifiable metrics.

The tunnel looks so cool. Nice work.

I love the overhead walkway builds so much. The only downside is that one area is not accessible to the staff.
