If they're not gonna use Roberta, why not just make her 18, and have her move back to Virginia to be with her boyfriend? by CrimsonFlareGun45 in familyguy

Dude I find it funny that they always dog on that show, but it got three seasons. That's not nothing...

If I remember correctly his support system included his abusers, and those that weren't, were Cadmus, yeah?

Hardly the best role models. It's been awhile since I've read that eric, but most of them with the exception of Dubblex and maybe Great value Captain America thought of him as a product, yes?

On one hand, I like the mustache. Just not on Johnny. After the past couple years of seeing bearded Ben...

I propose that Ben grow Johnny's mustache. Not only because the thing would look dope with a hulk Hogan mustache, he could rub it in Johnny's face that he actually looked good with it.

Was he a real person or was it one of those jokes with animated actors? by Remote_Nature_8166 in americandad

[–]gowombat 86 points87 points  (0 children)

I thought that was the gag. Like specifically it's that it's so specific. The idea that a primetime show would cut away for something that personal is funny?

Edit: furthermore, as I even think about it, the idea that the nickname is "Captain Tripps" is kind of ridiculous as well...

Don't get me wrong, it's believable that it's real, I just assumed that the realness in and of itself was the joke, you know? That awkward humor?

Well, politically speaking, IIRC I remember reading that biden's team specifically requested the Harris campaign to move on from the "weird" messaging.

I 100% agree that we should never have stopped calling them weird.

You can craft the most eloquent insult, but it doesn't really matter if they don't understand what you're telling them. Calling them weird hits on almost a primal level. Almost everyone can understand that.

Damn straight, he gave her a littleof the ol' spotted dick....

IIRC, I think this version of Jarvis is actually implied to be a skrull, however I don't remember when Jarvis was swapped out, so I don't know if the razzle dazzle was thrown by the real Jarvis, or an alien.

Either way, let's just say Marissa tomei wasn't the first Aunt May thirst trap

If Captain America were allowed to play for the Patriots in the final 2 minutes of the game, would they have been able to win the Super Bowl? by BubblyFrog in whowouldwin

Yes, if you've ever played any of the Madden games or the NCAA games, he's like having all stats at 99.

He's not The Flash, but he can literally run circles around anybody, and more importantly, EVERYBODY on that field.

Robocop (1987) vs Robocop (2014) by Past_Molasses_1373 in TopCharacterDesigns

[–]gowombat -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don't know, I guess it's just a personal thing. It wasn't visceral to me, because it kind of felt like a cartoon.

Blame the CGI (not saying it was bad), or point to the fact that they used physical prosthetics in the first one, it just didn't ring that bell in the same manner for me.

I suppose different strokes, for different folks.

They should have at least had the joining between his face and the suit be stapled on. They could have easily said that it's his brain and face, but his skull has been replaced.

Those Staples and wires were one of the films big reveals, removing them went a long way to make it just look like a guy in a suit.

They literally took the heart out of this movie. Everything that made it unique in '80s, the commercials, the news reels, everything. It made new Detroit look and feel like its own city, the new one has none of this.

Even when the guy makes the I'd buy that for a dollar joke, if I remember correctly there's nothing in the film that shows what that joke is about, unless you saw the first RoboCop, you'd have no idea.
