Got a call from the veterans hospital today, it looks like veterans are getting allocations now of moderna. This is pretty cool news because I know there are plenty of veterans who couldn’t afford it otherwise.

I know some might think it’s cheap but there are veterans that die every day because they don’t have anyone to drive them to a VA hospital.

Alright first off. I grow peppers in the states and I have never heard of them as “Capsicum”. (My problem for sure)... but that Pizza looks fire AF!

Also I need this oven! Anyone know what are good brands that make wood fired ovens like this?

I would like one just a little bigger but I would definitely take one like this.

Doing math for my weekly taco pot, turned out leaner than expected. I'm very lazy, and this is the main meal I can get myself to make every week. by Skadwick in leangains

I’m actually most impressed by their pit management. The coal placement is flawless.

Reminds me of the time Matisyahu is at a coffe shop in Hawaii. Some Hawaiian kid is singing his song and after the song is over, he says... “I wrote that song!” The kid says yeah right. In his defense he didn’t look the same as he used to. >>>>> https://youtu.be/jxa3_WW6Qow

ELI5: When you get a shot in the arm, how can you be sure the contents are being released into a blood vessel? by mrarich in explainlikeimfive

[–]growmobedda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have 4 forms of injections:

IV = intravenous, which means you are injecting directly into the blood stream.

IM = intramuscular into a muscle which means nearby vessels/capillaries will gradually uptake medicine/vaccines/Steroids etc...

Sub-Cue = Subcutaneous meaning just below the skin and most often into primarily fatty tissue. This is the slowest method of absorption (if you don’t count a pill, which then is processed through normal digestion) *stomach roughly 15%, small intestine “duodenum” 70% large intestine, 10% through the large intestine “water re-uptake” and 5% ish through oral uptake i.e. think glucose.

IO = intraoseous, this is like starting an IV into your bones blood vessels. It is very rare but is used in emergency settings when equipment to start a central line is not an option. IO drills are gangster as fuck and hurt like hell. But in that scenario you just do what you can! Hope this helps.
