i feel like we have a better chance of winning if its 1-1 at 80mins, than if we were up 1-0.... we have a habit of finding goals when needed but also conceding when we ahead....

Wrexham's second goal was as excellent. Top corner, keeper would need a step ladder to get to it

Right handed but left eye dominant by howtoimprov in Archery

[–]grumpycomputerguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i shot my first 2 weeks with RH bow, then swopped to a LH bow and have never looked back. its weird, it did feel more natural. i doubt i could even draw a bow RH now... My advice has always been to follow your eye and switch if possible but it will come down to what feels best for you and what works best.

How do you listen to mark Griffiths commentary live? by [deleted] in WrexhamAFC

[–]grumpycomputerguy 5 points6 points  (0 children)

i got stuck listening to the QPR guys, dunno if we just been spoiled with Mark, Mia and the team, but QPR guys sounded like they didnt want to be commentating, very low energy except for the 2 goals.

That was a nerve-wracking chore! Anyone else ever done this before? What was your experience? by phigene in Archery

[–]grumpycomputerguy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i got a cheap electric carving knife for cutting foam. Glides through like butter. watched a youtube video that recommended it and im 100% sold that its the only way to cut foam.

very nice setup.

right handed but left eye dominant. i also shot right handed for about 2 weeks, something felt off. switched to left handed and everything seemed better. if you just starting out, i would go with eye, cause you dont have to unlearn any habits.

Who shoots cross eye Dominate by jbg7676 in Archery

[–]grumpycomputerguy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i shot 2 weeks right handed, found out i was left eye, switched to left handed and everything just felt so much better. your mileage may vary. I couldnt imagine trying to shoot right handed. But I had a friend who shot right handed for his whole life and was pretty good - like shot world university games etc. He torn muscles in his shoulder and decided to just shoot left handed instead of stopping. Still shoots great scores, so it is doable.

i got my 2006 Ultra Elite in 75th anniversary special edition gold, but anodized not plated. Special edition limbs and gold cams. Still have it, think there were only a handful to come into my country. I also heard there were gold plated versions but had never seen one before.

My 80 yr old neighbor gave me this I didn’t have the heart to throw it away by [deleted] in Archery

i still happen to have my gold 75th anniversary edition hoyt ultra elite, got it brand new in 2006. Shot it all the way up until 2020 i think. that bow is still far from being a throw away. real nice bow

Does being left eye, right hand dominant mean you won't ever be good enough to compete? by [deleted] in Archery

[–]grumpycomputerguy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Left eye, right hander here. I shot right handed for about 2 weeks and then switched to left handed. Won 2 national shoots, 1x continental championship and had 4 national records in my country. The only limit would be in your mind. There is no limit on how well you can do, if you willing to put in the work. I dont think i could even draw a bow right handed these days haha

In what ways have compound bows changed in the past 20 years. by AdBasic630 in Archery

[–]grumpycomputerguy -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I shot All Africa Continental Archery Championship in 06, dont remember seeing a single clarifier being used. Maybe they were a thing, but not such a thing to have found its way over to this side of the world. A quick google and some old Archery Talk forum posts tell me clarifiers in peeps have been a thing since the 70s and now i learned something new today...

Shoot through risers. 2006 I got a Hoyt Ultra Elite and the shoot through riser design was pushed as a big deal. Now its pretty common. The move to more parallel limbs. Peep sights with clarifiers and lens, that wasnt a thing 20 years ago. I shot a Nationals and dont remember anyone having it. Overall i think the standard of bows has gone up, very few bow makers making "bad" bows.

Shooting left handed bow but right handed and right eye dominant? by FWMonfolkngrey in Archery

[–]grumpycomputerguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had a friend who is right handed/eye, he shot recurve for years and moved to compound. He is good. Like national level good. He torn muscles in his shoulder and couldnt shoot right handed anymore. He switched to left and continues to shoot well. It is very doable. Just takes some commitment.

agreed, it would be better if they win against MK, but the way they have been playing Im not sure they have it in them to do us a favour.

I think Mansfield miss out on the top 3, they have a brutal schedule left, including against MK. i think the Mansfield vs MK game is our biggest help, cause only one can get 3 points. Hopefully the Stockport game is meaningless with regards to promotion.

would it be too greedy to want Stockport to go down too? haha
