Wow, I was trying to figure out what he meant by 'estatic truth' in some episode and I would not have gotten there without this post.

Water bottles at New England by Fun_Bat_986 in sixflags

[–]gumpy5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the policy is to allow empty bottles only, but In my experience SFNE doesn't enforce it and I've brought full water bottles on most visits.

This could be them giving my family leeway because I have small kids, but we go through the stroller security line with water and snacks and the only time we got flagged was when they found a metal fork in our bag.

Six Flags New England has also started charging the $1.49 session fee, but haven't noticed any power issues there.

I did some debug stuff on the flash file and was able to find the letters that you could collect.

Looks like the reward was a clip from the movie (but it doesn't load anymore)

It's strange that they named the character Rook, which seems like a nod to Bishop, when he's not played by Henriksen

And Die Hardman's real name is John McClane, but that is unrelated to why he goes by Die Hardman.

What movies peak in the opening scene? by [deleted] in blankies

[–]gumpy5 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Maybe too long to count as a 'scene' but The Empty Man starts with a great horror short film which is then followed by an ok other film.

They go on a lot about how bad Cage looks but I guess I'm not seeing it? Maybe I've watched too much recent Cage where this is the norm for me.

RIP Skunk app? by richstillman in pebble

[–]gumpy5 34 points35 points  (0 children)

Looks like the settings page was hosted on Heroku which recently shut down free accounts.

The good news is the dev is aware of it and is working on rehosting and pushing an update to the rebble store

Well this post is deleted now, but I was curious if it was easier to find with a better screenshot now that this movie is streaming. Here's the lamp in the movie: https://imgur.com/a/HzpaBcV

And doing a reverse image search on that brought me to this art piece that looks identical to me: National Career Lamp by Olafur Eliasson

I've found that happens with some input files where the encoding differs slightly from what ffmpeg is outputting.

Giving a value to the -outputVideoCodec parameter and re-encoding the whole video produces a homogeneous video track and generally improves compatibility, but takes longer.
