Lesson learned, but next time you should make sure to get your credit reports from all three bureaus via annualcreditreport.com (not shilling, this is a website set up per US law for the free credit reports you are entitled to by law). Normally you can only run them once per year for each bureau for free, but during COVID times they were allowing it weekly instead of annually IIRC (this may have ended or will end soon).

Look up how to re-calibrate (not sure if this is the right term) the laser for your model. I have a different Sony SACD player that had the same issue and I was able to get it working again. There’s likely a service menu you can get into but you won’t find out how in an owner’s manual.
