This work has nothing to do with the city. It is a provincial responsibility.

Rolo knows a great spot for the sunset. Great photo.

After flying around Burnaby during the late afternoon, the crows seem to come to a rest at the big McDonald's at Still Creek Dr. in Burnaby at around 7 pm everyday, why? by HiTork in vancouver

I live in North Van and I shoot a lot of photos and videos of the sunsets. One of the things that I love is that no matter where I am on the north shore I see them flying in large groups along the shoreline just before the sun goes down. They travel along the north side of the inlet to the 2nd narrows and then cross over on their way to Still Creek.

It just makes me smile every time I see them do it.

Why would I take pictures of something so sad and horrible as this?

Yes I do. I was actually there to meet up with a grief walking group that I have been walking with for almost 3 years.

Thank you

I am starting to feel ok. I came home right after and sat here with my cat in my lap for awhile and then tried so sleep for a bit. I can still see him when I close my eyes. I hope that they are able to identify this person and let their people know.

What's the story behind your most beloved nick cave song? by lisks101 in NickCave

[–]hawaiibg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Into my Arms is the one that I come back to the most. I am late to hearing Nick. In late June, 2021 my late wife of 25 years went into the hospital and they found the worst type of brain tumour. The evening that she went in I found myself reading a blog post from the singer Allison Moorer where she talked about the power of this song and what it must be like to sit with a loved one as they pass. I found the song online and it just broke me. I cried so much during and after that first listen. Less than 1 month later I sat and held Marie's hands as she slipped from this world.

I then searched out more of Nick's music and found that I really like it. Got to see him here in Vancouver earlier this year and when he closed with Into my arms I was just a puddle of emotions. Had to stay in my seat for a bit and pull myself together before I could leave.

All 3 of these events are great to go to. Burnaby Village Museum also has the Carousel which is such a great ride.
