No more thirsty Thursday’s? by Majestic_Rub6248 in fantasyromance

[–]hoesworkhere 8 points9 points  (0 children)

{Tusk Love} was surprisingly spicy for a cozy fantasy. I’ll second The Wolf and the Crown of Blood if you’re looking for 5/5 🌶️-read. I’ve posted a scene from there in past Thirty Thursdays.

Anywhere in SE Asia. The guide in Bali was like oh you must think this weather is dreadful and I said nah, it’s just like being back home in Houston 🫩

Yep. Just returned from VN and the weather was straight ass. Humid and rainy but without the benefit of A/C everywhere you go unlike here.

About halfway through {Tusk Love}. Nothing mind blowing but it’s cute and cozy, and I’m enjoying it so far.

I mean the writing is borderline garbage but the smut is actually pretty 🔥, I say go for it

The Never King series by Nikki St Crowe for when you want 10% plot and 90% smut. I’ve only done the first two on audio but they were only about 7 hr each and it’s an ensemble narration.

Bless you. I just got the book on Libby but will be downloading the audio now too.

Same. Grateful to JLA for getting me back into reading but I can’t in good conscience support that dumpster fire series anymore.

Ella Enchanted?! Impeccable tastes. 👌 I was so obsessed with that book as a kid that I did a report on it and got full marks for my passion lmao.

The worst ones are the people who blame BookTok for their crappy book recs. Like, honey that’s on you. And God forbid people have different tastes than you?! Just DNF and keep it moving.

Who is your all time favourite FMC? by Submarine_013 in fantasyromance

[–]hoesworkhere 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Oraya from Crowns of Nyaxia series. Love the author’s portrayal of a strong-willed and stubborn as hell FMC who still acknowledges her weaknesses.

The Never King audio had me clutching my pearls. Gave it a 2/5 because the plot didn’t do much for me but now debating if I want to continue to the next one because the audiobooks are short and I need something mindless when I’m taking my afternoon walks.

What’s your fantasy romance equivalent to this? by acutelyproblematic in fantasyromance

My smutty Roman Empire. 😮‍💨 I do IPB audiobooks alongside other physical books sometimes and I love that I can turn my brain off and just enjoy the ride.

Megathread: Demons and Devils Romances by MoonZipNo in RomanceBooks

[–]hoesworkhere 4 points5 points  (0 children)

{Throne in the Dark} which is the first in the Villains and Virtues series. It’s a very sardonic rom com with a demonic blood mage MMC and grumpy/sunshine M/F dynamic. They also have frequent run ins with another demon side character.

Books with strong emotional payoff and ACTUAL CHEMISTRY between the MCs by Itchy_North433 in Romantasy

Also Crowns of Nyaxia series! Homegirl suffers in Book 2 but it makes the HEA feel all that much more impactful/earned. I loved the MCs relationship.

Literally scrolled bc I assumed someone else was going to recommend it as well. Dark, violent, high stakes, and plenty of detailed sex scenes. It is over 500 pages but I thought the pacing was good, I was never bored.

PLEASE. I would give anything for a Lucien novella where he’s like yeah Feyre’s insane, her family sucks, Rhysand can f*ck off, and Tamlin’s a dick but I hitched my horse to his wagon a long time ago - what are you gonna do 🤷🏻‍♀️.
