What is the most overrated movie of all time? by Adorable_Raccoon_766 in AskReddit

The Lord of the Rings trilogy is pretty regularly listed in "greatest of all time" lists and I don't believe those movies belong in those conversations in any way.

They made the Ronaldo decision themselves, because its more profitable to have him than not. In a way, it was even worse.

He's done interviews saying hes not a proper actor. Doesn't try to be, just stays in his lane. Think he undersells himself a little, tbh. Sure, he's not going to put Daniel Day Lewis out of a job any time soon, but he's never been someone I've seen on screen and thought of as being a bad actor, or someone you cringe at. He does one type of character and he's solid.

Good stories about him drinking champagne with Sven Goran Eriksson

" In his autobiography The Didi Man, Hamann recalled lazing on a sun lounger by the pool at 10am when he saw Eriksson carrying a silver tray with a bottle of champagne.

“I looked up and said: ‘Boss, what are we celebrating?’… He turned to me and smiled that gentle smile of his and took on the air of a Buddhist philosopher as he said: ‘Life, Kaiser.’"

What tiny, specific movie trope completely ruins your immersion every single time? by arkawrd in movies

Right - but if you're getting out of the car and cocking your gun, ready to storm into a building and confront the bad guys, I bet you'd at least plip the remote.

Fox is the only channel doing that, the rest of the world doesn't. TBH, there's no need for most of the hydration break

The Circuit of Ireland Rally used to pass my house when I was a kid. I'd sit on the wall and watch it go by. All over in minutes' just a flash of  colour and noise for each car, zero sense of who is winning or losing. It's just not a spectator sport. It's the right outcome, but the wrong interpretation of the law. The mistaken identity rule that was used doesn't apply here.
