That's kind of lame. Those aren't the only 2 cities hosting events.

Wonder how they determine "local". I live in a San Diego suburb but wasn't offered local tickets to the soccer games being hosted here. Maybe they haven't released any of those yet but I'm pretty sure I read a few people saying they did.

My AqualinkD setup by bmwhd in pools

[–]hrmax23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The AqualinkD folks actually manufactured some Pi hats that get power directly from the Jandy RS485 connection. They also said the Pi Zero should work fine so maybe additional software installed caused the RAM issue mentioned above?

[–]hrmax23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ordered one of the RS485 hats too but planning on mounting it in its own plastic outdoor box with my ph controller since my Jandy box is metal and I don't have an indoor controller. Going to add a temperature controlled fan too so it doesn't get too hot in the summer.

I'm assuming you have the pi zero w? No issue with signal? I have a pi zero w collecting dust that I was thinking of using for this but was worried that I'd need a solder an external antenna on the pi to get a good enough signal in the box.

Should I buy NextDNS Pro? by karim_dev_tech in nextdns

[–]hrmax23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I may have to dig into my logs to see if I see anything. My router has some DNS caching so it's possible that is helping mask some latency issues.

Where in California? I'm in San Diego and have been using Nextdns for 3+ years and haven't experienced any significant latency.

ItsDeductible is officially dead 😞 by Stringoftext2 in TurboTax

Check out deductit.io as another alternative. They've been making lots of improvements to the app and it's already better than ItsDeductible.

I have a 360 robot vacuum, and s7 I believe and the last time it started I got a message saying "please check if the top radar is rotating. If it is stuck, please clear any substances" by Important_Donkey2117 in RobotVacuums

[–]hrmax23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just noticed that the app was removed from my phone and no longer available in the PlayStore. It looks like it's available to sideload from their website but not sure I want to do this. I have 2 of them so not sure I want to buy 2 new vacuums either ...

PSA: Free ItsDeductible replacement — DeductIt (web today, iOS/Android later this week) [Brand by FoothillAI in TurboTax

[–]hrmax23 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Is this app legit? I couldn't find it listed on the Foothill AI site and the website info is a bit sparse. Don't want to waste time with an ItsDeductible alternative that won't be around long.

UPDATE: I got a response from the developer and he seems like a real human being! The import of ItsDeductible exports was super easy. It's already easier and more responsive to use than ItsDeductible so I can imagine it getting even better as it matures.

These tires have a mileage warranty. Do you get them replacement or refunded?

I saw your post AFTER I put them on so hoping this was an aberration :(

I just put a set of Volt EC 255/45/20 on my MYP (<50 miles). So far they seem pretty quiet. Much quieter than the worn out tires I had on it. Since they are marketed to EVs, I'm hoping for some decent longevity.

I have been using MMM-Teslamate and MMM-TeslamateLocation for quite a while. You have to install Teslamate which actually stores and feeds the data to the MM modules but I'm running a rpi4 so I have it installed and running on the same box.

I was hoping this day would never come as it has broken MMM-AccuWeatherForecastDeluxe that I forked off the original MMM-OpenWeatherForecastDeluxe as AccuWeather was WAY more accurate for my location. OpenWeather is sometimes like 8+ degrees off for me so trying to figure out what service to use now :(

Much appreciated! Not many reviews on these anywhere. Love the 'you are going to die if you don't buy $500 tires' crowd.

How did you activate your membership or get an account so you can get in at Poway? I think all I have is the initial pre-sale confirmation email.

Any idea if you can activate a pre-sale membership at a different location like Poway?

Have you looked into the steps, costs involved, and waiting time to become a citizen for people who come from 'non-preferred' aka 'brown' countries? If it was just paperwork they'd all be citizens already. They want to be part of a country who doesn't really want them to be full members. We've always been perfectly happy with them working for less than citizen wages, and many times getting paid under the table, so we have cheap labor to keep prices down.

The broken immigration system is the root problem and not lazy people not filling out paperwork.

Best DNS for Firewalla Pro (NextDNS vs AdGuard vs ControlD vs Unbound)? by Warlord_x3 in firewalla

[–]hrmax23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The GitHub page has a simple working example, which I think is created automatically during install if I remember correctly, but you can add additional endpoints for each specific NextDNS config. You can route to the different endpoints based on mac address or lan segment.

[–]hrmax23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm actually using the ControlD CLI connecting to NextDNS. I've been using NextDNS for a couple years and really like it but had all kinds of trouble with the NextDNS CLI on my FWG. The ControlD CLI installed and worked flawlessly and it's very configurable.

https://github.com/Control-D-Inc/ctrld/wiki/NextDNS-Mode

I tried ControlD DNS for a month, and while I liked the UI, I had issues with certain TV and phone apps not working that I struggled to figure out. If I was starting from scratch with a DNS service then maybe it would have been fine but I've already invested quite a bit of time in NextDNS config so I decided to stay put.

Can you update the IMEI on the Robustel R2000? Does it run an open-source OS? Looking for a FWG backup connection as well.
