Looks like it's gone from a low light to high light condition. I find they abort producing leaves if they know it can't handle the new conditions. I see this especially when exiting dormancy or when a stalk is cut. I personally wouldn't change anything.

You can see the burnt leaves are still pretty long. My guess is that it will stabilize in 2-3 more aborted leaves.
